Tweet Jukebox

Tweet Jukebox | technologies |
Tweet Jukebox - Thinking Inside the Box
John Dalziel's insight:

Tweet Jukebox is a free scheduling tool that allows practitioners to...
● load a “jukebox” with content,
● schedule when they want tweets to go out and then
● sit back and let it do the job for you.
Practitioners can create more than one jukebox, load them with thousands of tweets and then send out as many as 100 tweets per day (I doubt they would want to do that but, it's possible!).
Accounts come preloaded with two jukeboxes, one with photo content and one with quotes, to get users started.
Users have the option to tweet jukebox content once, regularly or until a specific date.
The scheduling engine is very flexible e.g. users can set a time for each tweet to go out, depending on user engagement.
NOTE: Although Tweet Jukebox allows users to set schedules for different times on different days of the week. When it runs out of content, it automatically starts tweeting again from the beginning.
Tweet Jukebox also lets users track who has mentioned them. This can be visualized by the tweets themselves, or shown in a graph format.
It's possible to choose from mentions in the last 7 days, 30 days, month or previous month.
Another feature is the ability to thank up to 50 users every Friday.

One to consider for Learner Engagement with On-Line and/or other courses.

uWhisp - Breaking the silence

uWhisp - Breaking the silence | technologies |

uWhisp is really new and some of the links on the main page are not up and running yet.

For practitioners that keep a Facebook page for their learners or a Twitter feed, uWhisp, a site currently in Beta, allows users to record audio that can then be played back within their web browser.

It currently requires practitioners to use Firefox, Safari, or  Google Chrome and to add the plug-in.

Note: The plug-in also places a button in the text boxes of the social networks that are used.

A potential look into the future of how text based Social Media is heading towards being vocally social.

Buffer for Firefox :: Add-ons for Firefox

Buffer for Firefox :: Add-ons for Firefox | technologies |
Buffer’s Browser extension for Firefox gives users the real power to use Buffer to...
* set a schedule once and then let all Buffer tweets get published - based on the daily schedule; tweets will be spread out over the day so users will never overwhelm their followers.
* drop links into the Buffer account
* the Buffer App tool queues them for future publishing. This way users can still enjoy spontaneous tweeting without stuffing their Twitter stream with multiple updates, within a short period of time.

Also, whenever users are reading an article, they can click on the Buffer icon and get the title of the page and a shortened link; they can then add it to their Buffer.

10 New Ways Twitter Is Changing The College Lecture

10 New Ways Twitter Is Changing The College Lecture | technologies |

This post, published by Edudemic looks at the ways Twitter is causing the current "lecture model" (engagement with learners) to evolve. Especially online...

So how exactly is Twitter changing the college lecture as we know it?

Ken Morrison's comment, August 1, 2012 8:11 AM
This is a very nice blog. I remember when teachers were excited about the idea of giving everyone a $xx.xx clicker so that we could record everyones multiple choice 'opinion'. If used wisely, Twitter is a much better use of the same concept. I like some of the other opinions as well. Specifically, I like the idea that it connects students in new ways to network and learn answers together outside of class.

Twtebook | share e-books on twitter

Twtebook | share e-books on twitter | technologies |

On Twtebook users can have PDFs shared with all their friends on Twitter. Don't worry the URL can be shared with "non-Twitter" users.

This service is free, just log in using twitter, select the files to share with others and add a message (Tweet).

Anything shared via Twtebook can be opened and viewed right in the browser, for additional speed and ease-of-use. (Users may have to click the download - in some browsers)

I can see Twetbook being used in education to share digital text and other study materials online.

NOTE:- Material has to be in pdf format which is a "Save As..." option in office 2007/10.
