The Current State of Special Education

The Current State of Special Education | M-learning, E-Learning, and Technical Communications | Scoop.it
Special education is defined as 'specially designed instruction to meet the unique needs of a child with a disability'.

I'm always about special education issues, since I have a spec ed kid in my household. This information has been part of my life, in one way or another for 9 years, but I think it helps others understand what we need to look at and go through in order to provide my son the best education for him.

LMS is an app theme allowing one the functionality to run a course/training program through their WordPress powered websites. Whether you want teach french, how to play the guitar or ...

I like the idea of this being some sort of add-in to a WordPress website. Being a WordPress user myself, I see this as a great way to manage the content to create customized sites.

This infographic explores the use of gaming in classrooms, and how it can help boost students' engagement and motivation. (Can Gaming Help Kids Learn?

Gaming is definitely a route worth exploring, not only for kids, but also for adults. Having a fledgling gamer at home who is on the high end of the autism spectrum, and knowing how he needs that dopamine surge to get his brain going, if there were games that weren't "lame" that would allow him to learn what he needs to learn for school, then I think he'd retain more information.
