Interesting site about young kids that have taken technology beyond the classroom and excelled. Would be great to show to a class to show what all technology can do and teach you.

Lego seems to be impressing audiences with the future of the Lego Mindstorms series. Seeing Lego move to a version of Linux for operating the device seems promising for much faster processing and more advanced features and functionality. Like all other Mindstorms, it looks like we will see many homebrew software kits being developed for the new kit to improve functionality beyond the original purpose. Although there is still the exact same amount of ports on the device as previous systems (3 motor, 4 sensor), it looks like there could be a new lineup of sensors beyond what we have seen before from Lego, such as the new gyro sensor and IR beacon. This could be a promising future for school science and engineering projects as the system takes as little as 45 minutes to build, program and execute the device.
