Many people, whether they are parents or lawmakers, seem surprised that it’s legal to teach about different religions in public schools.

To ensure that our students try to expand their worldview past a Westernized perspective, it is imperative that we have conversations about religion and its impact on politics, economics, and social issues.  As less of our students receive formal religious education through organized religion, we need to facilitate these conversations in a way that is cognizant of the 1st Amendment.
