As time changes, so does education. In the 21st century, it is necessary that teachers encourage students to develop 21st century skills. Some of those skills include the development of critical thinking, problem solving, self-direction and others. As teachers, we also have to encourage learners’ autonomy. They need to learn how to take decisions and stand for what they believe; also, they need to know that they have a voice in the classroom, and that what they think really matters. By doing this, teachers create a good learning environment, and students feel motivated to learn.
