Shenyang night market in China, the largest of its kind in Asia

Shenyang night market in China, the largest of its kind in Asia | Luxury Travel Asia | Scoop.it
This is one street that has something for everyone. For Shenyang's night market in Liaoning, China, is Asia's largest of its kind stretching some 1.2 miles.
Mandarin Journeys's insight:

A huge Market, but we have our doubts to if it really is the biggest one in Asia! Would need to check the stretch but Chiang Mai night market in Thailand is also quite long, probably around a mile too.

sanctuminleresort's curator insight, October 31, 2016 11:01 AM

Sanctum Inle Resort is a monastic retreat on the banks of stilted wooden homes of Inle Lake. It stands as Myanmar's most ambitious new hotel.  Here within its quiet cloistered corridors, contemplation and detachment reign supreme alongside a fundamental simplicity that harks to the essence of elegance and the authenticity of Myanmar.

Property Details (from http://kerdowney.com/)

Inspired by the serenity of Inle Lake’s waters, the four classes of rooms and suites at Sanctum Inle Resort celebrate the minimalist yet mystifying lives of the Burmese people. Arched windows and graceful cloisters might be modest in their approach, but there is nothing simple about Sanctum Inle Resort. Lofty and bright, the hotel’s rooms come outfitted with all of the comforts of home, with natural wood floors, plush beds, air conditioning, cable television, and solid teak wood furniture handcrafted from local Myanmar artisans. For an even more elegant stay, opt for the grand Provost Junior or Abbey Suite accommodations, located in stand-alone villas and opening out to private terraces with expansive lake and garden views.

Mornings at Sanctum Inle Lake begin with a hot cup of Burmese tea and made-to-order breakfasts in the Refectory. Here in the dining room, menus span Eurasia and the local Shan culinary arts, encompassing everything from noodles and curries to samosas and fresh garden salads from the resort’s organic garden. And despite the monastic setting of Sanctum Inle Resort, moderation does not seem to exist within its walls. Guests are invited to not only indulge in Yves Rocher facials and Thai massages at the Sanctuary Spa, but also end the day with a Cuban cigar in the Cigar Bar and a glass of Myanmar-made beer or wine in The Cloister Bar. The resort's capacious swimming pool offers refreshing dips after a long day touring Inle Lake. Also onsite is the resort boutique, a repository of the best silk and woven handicrafts Inle has to offer.

The beauty of Sanctum Inle Resort extends well beyond its quieted walls. Guests are encouraged to rise early for meditation in the gardens and contemplative walks by the lake, but the true wonders of the region lie on Inle Lake’s waters. Here in this vast and unexplored corner of the world, timeless fishermen row one-legged across the placid waters at dawn, floating vegetable gardens thrive through the diligence of their tenders, and stilted homes of waterfront villages house the beautiful Pa-Oh, Inthar, and Shan people still untainted by the marks of tourism. At Sanctum Inle Resort, guests are not simply interacting with a place, they are traveling to the heart of Myanmar’s culture.
