 Whether it's building muscle or strength the idea of activating as many muscle fibers as possible is vital. In order to activate the hard to reach muscle fibers a heavy load and therefore force is needed. 

So add in one of these heavy half movements on each of your workout days and encourage potentially large strength and size gains which will translate efficiently into athletic performance.
