The Pros and Cons of Teen Pregnancies | What is Pregnancy

Teens are becoming more and more sexually active these days. This increases the risk of contracting STD's and also unwanted pregnancies. Some teenagers are aware of the consequences of having unprotected sex and some are not.

 

This article shows the positive and negative impacts of teenage pregnancy and show through the negative that contraception and eductaion about sex are often vital especially for those who do not want to get pregnant. It shows that although there are many negatives there are still positives. Although the website was interesting and showed me new ideas and information it was from one persons point of veiw and did not include many hard facts.

Fewer young people are giving birth now than in the 1970s. This is most likely because of improvements in sex education, availability of contraception and access to abortion.

 

 I was suprised to find that the rates of young pregnancy have gone down so much and how affective education about sex and contraception has been during the last few years.

this article is very useful to young women who have fallen pregnant unexpectedly. it gives options on abortion, adoption and foster care and also explains parenting. it give statistics on teenage pregnancy in Australia and much more information.

Whether or not teenagers overindulge may be influenced, in part, by what they see in the movies. Researchers in Europe have found that the more scenes of alcohol use teens watched on the big screen, the greater their risk of binge drinking.

 

This site shows how our culture can influence teenagers and encourage them to abuse alcohol. The information, however, was based on research done in Europe so the page is reliable but not neccessarily relevent to Australian teenagers.
