Interesting commentary on the plans of the US high energy community for outreach work. He clearly feel more emphasis should be put on blogs and other forms of social media. The authors of the white paper, worry more about the Congressmen who are voting for or against the science budget in the US.

This is an interesting overview of the the significance of the claims of particle physics experiments to see new physics. It is interesting to see that it is important to struggle to get a 5 sigma effect, rather than suddenly find an unexpected 6 sigma effect.
