Thunder ticket prices soaring | KFOR.com – Oklahoma City News ... | SPRTS FACILITY MNGMENT | Scoop.it

OKLAHOMA CITY -- It's a simple rule of supply and demand; if something is in low supply and there is high demand, prices will go up. That's exactly the situation with tickets for games 1 and 2 of the NBA Finals.

The supply and demand is exactly what we as "fans" need to understand. The NBA had their "Lockout" this year, what does that mean, rich people are crying that they are not rich enough yet and they could really use another $100,000 or there kids may go hungry. What is wrong with showing these people that the fans have all the power and the players and owners are fighting over "our" money, its not theirs! If the fans decided to go on a season long "Lockout" then what would happen? How would that affect the salaries? Imagine this game seven of the NBA finals, .07 seconds remaining Oklahoma down by 2, Kevin Durant gets the ball, shoots a three and its good! The crowd........ wait what crowd the stadium is so empty you hear the ball as it falls through the net to the hardwood floor..... bounce. Yes the game would probably go on but how can you pay a $2 million bonus if you have no revenue coming in to your franchise? Even the Billionare owners can not pay all the salaries for an entire year and not get any revenue. Its time to take a stand as "fans", more like owners because we pay the salaries not the owners.

Should beer sales be part of college sporting events? | Today's Question

Should beer sales be part of college sporting events? | Today's Question | SPRTS FACILITY MNGMENT | Scoop.it

Under a plan approved by the Legislature, fans at TCF Stadium will be able to buy beer during football games. Today's Question: Should beer sales be part of college sporting events? Thanks for your interest in Today's Question.

As you can see the question is still out there about serving alcohol at college sporting events. I agree the money is good for the university but is is really worth the black eye that is caused when a drunk fan falls from the upper deck to his death, or when the referee blows a call costing there team the game and a championship and you have wide spread rioting? Being that alcohol is what is one of the main factors in starting the fighting and rioting is the college responsible for everything that is broke or damaged? If I serve alcohol at my home and let someone leave my house I hold a level of responsibility for allowing the person to drink and leave the party.

Blagnet.net » Good for the Southeastern Conference! | SPRTS FACILITY MNGMENT | Scoop.it

In college athletics, the Southeastern Conference has been lenient in penalizing student-athletes who fail a marijuana test. ... The school's marijuana policy should be similar or identical to its alcohol policy, viz., very lenient.

This is a prime example of to much lenient actions allows for college athletes to push the boundaries of what is right and wrong until there is no clear line to cross.

Neil Wagner: Eco Epiphany: Big City Sports Becoming Earth Friendly

Neil Wagner: Eco Epiphany: Big City Sports Becoming Earth Friendly | SPRTS FACILITY MNGMENT | Scoop.it

But the Chicago Park District's Soldier Field, home of the Bears, has just received LEED Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council — the first NFL stadium so honored, which means the team of black and blue has gone green.

It is good to see the money that is going into these facilities over the years are being used to finally give back. I know that with the changes in the stadium it will probably take 10 years or more to recoupe the money they put out to turn there stadium "Green". I just wonder that when that does happen what will happen with ticket prices? Will they continue to raise like the national deficit, or will they level off or even drop? My guess is with the greedy players and owners the ticket prices will continue to go up and the owners pockets will just get fuller faster.

Was Oakland PD's Proposed Crowd Control Policy Illegal?

Is Crowd Control ever to excessive? With society today worrying about how to properly handle a rioting crowd properly, has probably never been in the middle of 100,000 fans upset there team just got cheated out of a Championship. We can be our own worst enemy. Security Violations should be handled on an escalating that is determined, trained, and rehearsed until it becomes second nature to every member of the team.
