I absolutely love this idea, reason being that it will save Americans money by going green. The more engery we conserve, the money in our wallets, the more we recycle the less we have to put out for new bottles and other things of that nature. Going green is the way to go!

"Many benefits— including capital resources and purchasing power, management expertise and menu flexibility — that can be gained by outsourcing concessions operations to regional or national providers...Athletic departments that outsource concessions enjoy peace of mind from a management standpoint...No matter how concessions contracts are structured, the only way they succeed is if they are perceived to be mutually beneficial for all parties involved."

A Closer Look at Stadium Subsidies — The American Magazine

Despite what many people believe, professional sports venues typically do not spur large-scale economic activity.

Amanda Mueller's curator insight, October 23, 2013 6:24 PM

"The typical economic impact study gathers data on all aspects of spending related to a stadium, including the money spent to build it and the money spent by fans in connection with the stadium (including on tickets, at restaurants, and at hotels). The impact of this spending ripples outward into other areas of the economy through a multiplier. By linking spending to employment, the study then calculates how many jobs a stadium has created. It does not perform a cost-benefit analysis, which would address the opportunity costs of raising taxes to pay for a stadium and consider alternative uses of those funds."
