With a lot of stories being on unethical practices, I thought this was a very inspiring story on the right way for a coach to treat a player, especially after that player makes a mistake. Athletes are people, and coaches should be teachers.  I thought this was a great reminder of that!

I was always taught that you perform how you practice.  If you practice not finishing a defensive move, will you struggle with it in the game?  But what if that move in practice injures another player, perhaps even the best player on the team? How do you balance not injuring your teammate with giving your best in practice so that you can give your best in the game?

This is another proverbial breath of fresh air, seeing a program put doing the right thing above winning a game.  And, as it points out, this is just one game so far.  Tennessee may lose this one game because of it, but it may avoid (or at least minimize) more losses, stiff penalties, and huge fines in the future.
