Should Coaches Be Required To Allow Parents Into School Sports Practices?

Should Coaches Be Required To Allow Parents Into School Sports Practices? | Sports | Scoop.it
That's the question being asked by a Florida school district, after a parent -- actually, a grandparent -- complained he couldn't watch his 13-year-old granddaughter's volleyball practices.

I learned that in the state Florida there was a controversy about should parents be allow to attend their child’s practices. I found this whole article interesting because I have never thought out that question before. Me personally I would not want to have my parents at my practices. Coaches get enough already from parents in the crowds, it would be too much for a coach to deal with parents in games, meetings, and now practices. Me, I would be against this rule as a player and a coach. I selected this article because it drew my attention. I believe the state of Florida shouldn’t pass this law. This information would help in the sport industry because it would show how you don’t need extra people watching over you. You wouldn’t need your boss in all your meeting watching over all the time, especially a parent.

I learned that teams still can benefit for social media, if used the right way. The San Francisco Giants and the Boston Celtics are the top 100 in the Sports Illustrated “Twitter 100” list. I found the fact that Srabian(Giants) and Stringer(Celtics) who are both responsible for the teams twitter accounts are the best because they think outside the box. They draw the attention to the fans. It also helps because both teams have the best and most respected fan base. I selected this article because a lot of athletes today don’t use social media the right way. So it good and highly respected when you’re a sport team and you use your social media account the right way people respect you more. This will help me in the sports industry because now I know people and fans respect you and your business more.

New Jersey First To Adopt Rule To Fight 'Bias Language' Taunting In School Sports | Sports | Scoop.it

I learned that in the state of New Jersey they are now enforcing serious rules and regulations on racial, ethnic or sexual taunting, by players, coaches or fans. I find it interesting that in the state of New Jersey the “N word” taunt and any other taunt that they feel is bad to the community around the area you will get suspended from the rest of that game and the next. They also would write you up. I selected this article because I believe people shouldn’t be taunting the “N word” or any taunt that’s offensive. But I do also that people should be able to taunt, just not that harsh to the other team and fans. This would help in the sports industry because no matter where you work in the sports field you should always have a filter.
