Endoscopy can be used for gastrointestinal issues and esophageal tumors. Intubated anesthesia is required for an endoscopy. One of the things an endoscopy can do is a biopsy, where a sample of tissue is removed for further inspection. If there is something caught in the stomach or esophagus, it can be taken out with the endoscope and a basket that is taken down with the endoscope. Endoscopy is one of the best ways to visualize the trachea and nasal cavity. A specific type of endoscopy, a colonoscopy, is done by passing through the rectum instead of through the throat. Colonoscopies are used for removing pollups or masses formed on the colon.

MRIs can be used to gather more information about the brain. They are not safer than Xrays, and definitely not cheaper. Although both MRIs and Xrays give off radiation, there are more benefits to using an Xray, such as being able to do an Xray awake. For an MRI to be done, the patient must be given anesthesia.

The main advantage of using an ultrasound is it being non-invasive. The patient must stay still, but this is not too difficult because of beds that the vets have. Ultrasounds are great to gather images of internal organs and anesthesia is not necessary.
