Daniel Descalso is a infielder for the St. Louis Cardinals that made is debut in 2014 season against the  Pittsburgh Pirates. He came off the bench and went 0-3  but had very good defensive  plays.

Informed that video of his fall into the stands on Thursday went viral after it was noticed that he pushed someone on his way out, Cardinals first baseman Matt Adams insisted there was no intent in his contact with the fan.

I saw this on SportsCenter and that was ridiculous. Matt Adams did not shrug off the fan and he should not get in trouble at all. That fan was an idiot anyway!

Matt Adams, getting his first sustained opportunity to be the Cardinals' everyday first baseman, opened the season with five hits in a three-game series against the Reds, including four hits to left field while the Reds shifted their infield defense expecting Adams to pull the ball.

Matt Adams, First baseman for the Cardinals, is starting off the 2014 season with a bang. Adams is having a great approach to the plate and is getting on. He is also having a great season so far on the defense side.

A day after he allowed four hits and one run in a rocky season debut, Cardinals reliever Seth Maness said he identified "something just a little bit off with the mechanics" of his delivery. An adjustment, he said, should help as he searches for the feel of his sinker, the pitch Maness is most reliant on.
