Tommy Haas - Berating Himself! - Is this a key to Understanding Sports Psychology? -SPORT PSYCHOLOGY | Sport Psychology - senior PE | Scoop.it
Tommy Haas is not going to win the U.S. Open. At 35, the German is the oldest player in the men’s field and is clearly past his prime. (His peak rank was No. 2 in 2002.) But in 2013, after years beset by injuries, Haas is having a renaissance.

Why We Choke When All Is on the Line - SPORT PSYCHOLOGY

Why We Choke When All Is on the Line - SPORT PSYCHOLOGY | Sport Psychology - senior PE | Scoop.it

One second left on the clock, and the basketball star who seems to be able to make any shot from anywhere on the court has just been fouled. His team is two points behind, but no worry.

All he has to do is make two free throws, a piece of cake for someone of his talents.

The first shot is perfect, nothing but net. The second came straight from hell, rolling around the rim and dropping off to the side. Game over.

It's happened to all of us, although not necessarily on a basketball court. The big moment arrives, and we've done it so many times before that we don't even have to think about it.

YEAR 12 HPE TERM 4 2013 - SPORT PSYCHOLOGY

Brianna Norris's comment, February 18, 2014 12:44 PM
This article first talks about motivation, what it is and how important it is. It also discusses the different types of motivation such as, self-determination;how far you want to push yourself and how badly you want something, and what you are going to do to get it. Amotivation: emotional type of motivation where you feel a lack of ability and almost a paralyzed feeling. External and introjected, external is when something is bribing you, like money or a trophy also to avoid punishment. Introjected is when you are involved in something to not feel guilty about something or to be the center of attention. Identified and integrated is when you still choose but you aren't happy. Lastly, intrinsic where you are fully self motivated and you enjoy what you are doing and you carry an interest in it. There are 3 types of intristc; to know, to achieve, and "to experience stimulation"
