You have to make sure that you don't panic as a president because when you panic a lot of things can go wrong.  It takes a lot of working in front office because you have to make sure that you don't get any lawsuits, mergers, and money issues.

3) I selected this article because I want to be able to know what to do if i was ever a president that was going through a crisis. SAPVoice: The Globalization Of The NBA

SAPVoice: The Globalization Of The NBA | Sport Management | Scoop.it
By Benjamin Hancock, SAP Marketing and Communications The sport of Basketball is now second to soccer in worldwide popularity and the National Basketball Association (NBA) continues to play a major role in making this global growth a reality.
Daquan Sampson's insight:

1) What I have learned while reading this article is the globalization the NBA. I didn't know that basketball was the second watched sport. Soccer is the first watched sport. The NBA continues to play a major role in the global growth. The NBA wants to be able to focus the sport all over the world so people don't feel like they are being left out. The NBA wants every country to watch the sport of basketball.

2) The information that I found very interesting was the NBA started to develop a strong global footprint during the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcalona, Spain. The "Dream Team" was made with talents like Micheal Jordan, Charles Barkely, Scottie Pippen, Magic Johnson, and Larry Bird. Also the NBA helped China design a area that can fit 18,000 people. The NBA helped China with design, market, and operate of the arena.

3) I selected this article because I wanted to know more about the globalization the NBA. It is really important to build contacts with important people because that can really help people out a lot. It's not all the United States, you have to have all the countries in the world to be involved more so we all can be friendly.

4) This information will be so useful in the sport management field because it really good to have resources and connections around the world. This is how relationship and friendships can be developed because you can use other people ideas. Having connections overseas can play a major role because if you can't get a job in the US, you can find jobs overseas if you only know the right people to talk to.

What The Next Owner Of The Detroit Pistons Can Learn From Bill Davidson

What The Next Owner Of The Detroit Pistons Can Learn From Bill Davidson | Sport Management | Scoop.it
In 1974, William “Bill” Davidson, Mr. D. as he was affectionately known, entered the professional sports scene when he bought the Detroit Pistons. His $8 million investment eventually turned into a sports and entertainment empire.
Daquan Sampson's insight:

1) What I learn from this article is that you have to follow before you get to lead. You have to learn from the best first because at first it takes a long way to become a president of any professional sport team. I know that everyone wants to be the so called leader but before you lead you have to learn from someone else. Once you get the hang of being a leader you don't have to follow anymore.

2) What I found really interesting about this artice is that you have to leave a mark being a president. You have to make sure that people know that you know how to ran a team. By becoming a legendary president is the best to be because a lot of people know who you are. If I ever become a president or working in any front office position I want to be able to leave my mark.

3) The reason that I selected this article to read because I wanted to find more information of being a president for a team in the NBA. You have to make sure that you know the right people. You have to build connections with people so people know who you are without even asking you. Building frienships and knowing the right people can give you the best opportunities.

4) This information will help me in the sport industry because it's show what you have to do to become a legendary president. You have to care for the players, build relationships, and hire the right people that will do a great job for you. Being a president makes you become so responsible because you are running a team. Running a team isn't a easy job at all. People think that it is but it's really not.

The Best NBA Teams For The Buck

The Best NBA Teams For The Buck | Sport Management | Scoop.it
In the NBA, front office business savvy goes hand-in-hand with performance on the court. see photosDoug Pensinger/Getty ImagesClick for full photo gallery: NBA’s Best Teams For The Buck Consider the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Daquan Sampson's insight:

1) In this article, I learned that the best teams in the NBA makes more money than the teams that have the worst records. The two teams that make it to the NBA finals get the most money toward their franchises. Since both of the staduims are going to be sold out that money is going to the franchise.

2) I found this article interesting because teams make more money during the playoffs rather than the regular season. That is a good point because I feel like more people want to watch the playoffs at the arena. It is more exciting to watch. Over the last three years in the OKC franchise, the team average cost is 58 million. That is a lot of money.

3) I selected this article because I would like to work in the front office one day. I want to be able to manage the team under my own rules. I would like to be the president of the team so nobody doesn't tell me what to do. Since the front takes a lot of work I want to be able to take on that challenge.

4) This information will help me in the sport industry by knowing how much I will pay a player if he working in my franchise. Since I am the president of the team i have to make sure that I know what the budget of the team. I can't be spending that much money because I have to worry about the players and team. I also have to make sure that I am running the team right.
