Telecom Ultra Mobile by Saatchi & Saatchi NZ and The Sweet Shop via StopPress - YouTube

Client: Telecom New Zealand CMO: Jason Paris GM Brand, Comms & Digital: Kellie Nathan Comms Team: Arnna Conroy, Daimler Teves. Agency: Saatchi & Saatchi New ...
Jordyn Gregory's insight:

Telecom had made many changes before the name change to Spark in 2014, their brand and the service they offered had been in question with what they would do next. This video shows the colour and logo change and demonstrates the introduction of the 4G network along with other options for customers. This video would still fit with the now 'Spark' brand, as the colours and logo and the same, which shows the intention of a major rebranding came long before the decision to change names to Spark.

Igniting the Spark – Why Telecom Wanted To Change | Scoop News

Igniting the Spark – Why Telecom Wanted To Change | Scoop News | Telecom Rebrands to Spark | Scoop.it
The mobile and digital revolution is rapidly changing how we interact with companies and brands. If a smartphone is regarded as a weapon of personal empowerment, as Kit Yarrow [*] explains in a recent book, then organisations who don't change, do so ...
Jordyn Gregory's insight:

This 'Scoop' article contains many great insights into why Spark has undergone this rebranding, and why the company needed to do so. I think its very interesting that growth had stalled largely because customers did not feel "valued", upon other factors. With all the new technology available, consumers feel they now have the upper hand, "what can my service provider give me that other providers can't?" This mentality was not compatible with the old ways of 'Telecom' and with the rebranding to Spark comes a much more customer focused concept.

Spark are attempting to give their brand a new identity, claiming to conduct themselves in a way that will make consumers feel valued, and as though they are getting the best service on offer in New Zealand, which will result in a very positive stakeholder image of Spark as a brand/company, should they achieve their goals.

Telecom walks out the door | Telecom Rebrands to Spark | Scoop.it
Jordyn Gregory's insight:

The removal of the 'Telecom' letters from their headquarters, to make way for the new 'Spark'. I believe this picture is thought provoking - you see years of hardwork as 'Telecom' being walked out the door, to make way for the innovation of 'Spark'.

SPARK ATM (Automatic Thanks Machine) - YouTube

What does Thanks look like? We created the world’s first digital Automatic Thanks Machines (#SparkATM) and took them on a road trip across New Zealand to fin...
Jordyn Gregory's insight:

This video displays SPARK ATM (Automatic Thanks Machine) in different places all over the country, and gives both Spark and non Spark customers "Thanks" by distributing free gifts. This was a 'feel good' video that has had numerous shares on social media and has also been shown as an advertisement on TV. This video was one of the first released to advertise Sparks rebranding, and could be considered a video introducing customers to the 'new' image Spark intended to continue - one in which customers deserve 'Thanks' for their support, I thought this was important to share as a factor that 'Telecom' had discovered in their reports of why growth has stalled, was that their customers did not feel "valued".
