Models–their size, their age, even their gender–are provoking a lot of polarizing discussion lately. And plus-size model advocates (and their “real-woman” counterparts) are adding food for thought–or fuel to the fire, depending on your perspective.

everyone agrees anorexia and eating disorders are a serious issue but most of the problem isn't restricted to the fashion industry. most of the models you see on the runway are very skinny. most of them have a anorexia or bulimia. fashion designers say they are not going to change the type of model they are looking for to walk the runway. fashion council designer of America had devised a healthy model guidelines that are creating awareness of eating disorders. so you have to have a body mass index of 18.5 if your 16 or older.
