USOC expands 100-day countdown for Sochi - SportsBusiness Daily | SportsBusiness Journal | SportsBusiness Daily Global | Jonathan DeJesus | Scoop.it
The U.S. Olympic Committee has doubled the number of sponsors that will participate in its third pre-Olympic, 100-day-out celebration. Twelve sponsors will activate during the event, which will take place Oct.
Jonathan DeJesus's insight:

1. In this article I learned that the U.S. Olympic Committee has doubled the number of sponsors that will participate in its third pre-Olympic, 100-day-out celebration. The USOC expects more than 170,000 people to go through the event. That’s more than double the 75,000 visitors who came to the inaugural 100-day-out celebration before the 2010 Vancouver Games.

2.  Some information I found interesting and educational is SOC had more success in convincing sponsors to sign on for the event because it was able to show them the media value and exposure they would receive in Times Square.

3.I selected the article because I enjoy watching the Olympics and I was curious as to who the new sponsors were and the location for the 100 day out celebration.

4. This information will help me in the sport management industry because it shows the persistence of gaining sponsors for an important event that will increase exposure and revenue.

Jonathan DeJesus's insight:

1. In this article I learned that IMG College has brought a new national sponsor into the college space by signing Keurig to a 25-school deal, marking the agency’s first national sale in a year. I also learned Keurig obtained licensing rights to 11 schools, which will enable it to produce its sleek single-serve coffee makers in the colors and marks of those schools.

2. Some information I found interesting and educational is Keurig’s deal will provide signage in football stadiums and basketball arenas, advertising, and more than 50 sampling opportunities at big events on these campuses.

CBS Radio-Nets deal far more than rights - SportsBusiness Daily | SportsBusiness Journal | SportsBusiness Daily Global | Jonathan DeJesus | Scoop.it
In January, just a couple of months before the Brooklyn Nets’ radio rights deal with WFAN was expiring after nine years, CBS Radio President and CEO Dan Mason visited Brett Yormark, CEO of the Nets and Barclays Center, to start renewal talks.
Jonathan DeJesus's insight:

1. In this article I learned that a four-year deal between CBS radio and the Nets is set to be announced this week that will include much further than the Nets’ radio rights. It includes rights to other events that occur at the Barclays Center from college basketball games to boxing. Also it sets the companies up to co-produce concerts and other events from the arena.

2. Some information I found interesting is this deal is not only between the Nets and the radio station but also between CBS and the arena with different events.

3. I selected the article because I know CBS Radio and the Barclays Center (Nets) are both two powerhouse marketing machines and I was interested in what their new deal was.

4. This information will help me in the sport management industry because it shows the different methods of partnering up with other corporations to both help each other out in the long run.
