There is no doubt that exposure to high levels of sound damages hearing. With so many people listening to music at unhealthy levels ( either over headphones or live) we can expect to see more hearing loss than ever before.

My experience with hyperacusis has been that doctors tend to easily dismiss further testing. They seem content to make a "loose" diagnosis. It is good to see that there exists more in depth testing which can reveal conclusive physiological evidence.
