WEST NEW YORK -- Standing at the site where an 8-month-old baby was struck and killed after an accident involving a jitney bus in July, transportation union officials and politicians today pledged the girl's death will not be in vain.

“Angelie’s Law,” a state measure named after Angelie Paredes, the North Bergen girl killed on Boulevard East on July 30, would put the commuter bus industry under sharp new regulations. Assemblyman Vincent Prieto, who is set to become the state Assembly’s speaker in January, said passing the law will be one of his top priorities.

“Tragedies like this shouldn’t happen,” he said.

Prieto, D-Secaucus, appeared with about a dozen union workers wearing purple t-shirts and top officials with the Amalgamated Transit Union New Jersey, which represents NJ Transit bus drivers. Ray Greaves, a Bayonne City Councilman who is ATU-NJ’s chair, said jitney bus drivers put everyone at risk.

“I call them ticking time bombs,” Greaves said.

NJ Transit bus drivers have commercial driver’s licenses, are drug tested and go through background checks, and that’s not the case for jitney bus drivers, according to Greaves.

Angelie was killed when, authorities say, a jitney driven by Idowu Daramola jumped a curb and hit a pole that came crashing down on the infant, who was in a stroller. Authorities say Daramola was on his cellphone at the time of the crash, and they've charged him with death by auto and reckless driving.

Angelie's father was at today’s press conference, and after it ended, he appeared overcome with emotion as he stood staring at the Manhattan skyline. Two men standing by his side said he did not want to speak to the press.

Angelie's Law would increase the amount of insurance required for jitney buses, force drivers to register with the municipalities in which they operate and require they have valid commercial driver's licenses

Soulality: Mother Fights For Son Deshon’s Law To Be Pass Going On Two Years 2012 Yet It Took Angelie's Law A Few Months After Her 2013 Death

Soulality and Noneillah's Currant Event News's insight:
BLOOMFIELD NJ--It have been two years July 18, 2012 since Mr. Deshon Johnson  life have been tragically taken by Coach USA bus driver Wilson Romaine while operating NJ Transit bus 709 knocked Johnson down on Broad  and dragged him to his last breath onto Bay Avenue in Bloomfield New Jersey, where his lifeless body lied disfigured. The Essex County Prosecutor ruled Deshon’s demise as an accident. Ms. Johnson share with me that her son’s case was presented before a group of 12 juries which she was invited by Erica Lui to sit outside while the Grand Jury were in session, back in February 2013.  Due to an epidemic of the flu virus outbreak going around few of the juries were out sick an unable to be present, therefore;  the case was postpone to March according to assistance prosecutor Erica Lui. Ms. Johnson told me that Miss Lui called her and told her that she could not be anywhere in or near the building during the Grand Jury is in session. I am perplexed why Miss Lui told Ms. Johnson that she can sit outside while the Grand Jury was in session back in February, but not in March.  Ms. Johnson gave her advocate law Saulti information of witness statements that refuted to Johnson was not the cause of his demise as the prosecutor trying to proclaim. To this day we do not know what information was provided to the Grand Jury back in March of 2013 to allow this bus driver to walk free from vehicle homicide or manslaughter for Mr. Johnson unlawful death.  A few day ago, Ms. Johnson share some shocking new evidence that the bus driver said he saw Mr. Johnson and NJ Transit lawyer coaching him on saying remember you did not see anyone. When I heard the audio, grief and sadden overwhelm my body for Ms. Johnson, also as a parent with one child. As Ms. Johnson continue to share with me the ongoing  cold hearten behavior she have been enduring with Bloomfield township or NJ Transit on the removal of her son’s Deshon Johnson memorial on Bay Avenue taken down less than a few hour the same day it was put up, my heart just went out to her either more. Ms Johnson have been going through a lot of insensitive stone hearten behavior with NJ Transit, Essex County Vehicular Homicide Prosecutor Office and the township of Bloomfield NJ. Ms. Johnson stated her son’s life was taken in vain.Since, the tragic demise of her only son Ms. Johnson have been emailing, calling law makers to start a bill in her son’s name the Deshon Johnson’s law. She has been lobbying and advocating against reckless bus drivers and state company be held accountable for innocent lives taken. Ms. Johnson started an online petition on change.org campaign. I asked Ms Johnson who did she called and did she have a politician willing to help her with sponsor her bill. “Ms. Johnson said she called House Speaker Sheila Oliver, Freeholder Brendan Gill, the late United State Senator Frank Lautenberg, and State Senator Nia Gill, Congressman Donald Pain Junior, Assemblyman Thomas P. Giblin, and Sheila Oliver Chief of Staff Chris James two names of few. Ms. Johnson said that Sheila Oliver said she will meet with her back in 2012 but that never happen. Nia Gill never made any arrangement to meet with Ms. Johnson either.Mr. Johnson has been gone for two years and his mother still is frightened to get a bill in her son’s name.  Ms. Johnson said, she wrote President Obama, Corey Booker and  contact Governor  Chris Christie August 2012, March 2013, June 2013 about the injustice treatment she have been receiving  and poor investigation on her son’s case. Governor Christiedid not responded to Ms Johnson two of her email but the third email he responded with a general electronic letter  on July 2013 stating he will get someone to call her, but that never happen.                                               Back in July 13, 2013 an 8-month-old baby was struck and killed by NJ Transit bus driver. The bus driver was charged. After an accident involving a jitney bus in July, transportation union officials and politicians today pledged the girl's death will not be in vain. A few months later Assemblyman Vincent Prieto, started a “Angelie’s Law,” a state measure named after Angelie Paredes, the North Bergen girl killed on Boulevard East on July 30, would put the commuter bus industry under sharp new regulations. Assemblyman Vincent Prieto, who is set to become the state Assembly’s speaker in January, said passing the law will be one of his top priorities.“Tragedies like this shouldn’t happen,” he said.NJ Transit and the politician turn closed ears on Ms. Johnson requested and issues lay beforehand. They act as if Mr. Johnson life is of no impertinence. NJ Transit bus drivers have commercial driver’s licenses, are supposed to be drug tested and go through background checks, and that’s not the case for Romaine bus drivers, according to Ms. Johnson. Deshon was killed when, NJ Transit was driven by Coach USA  62 year old Wilson Romaine jumped a curb and hit Mr. Johnson dragged him to his demise 50 to 100 feet.  Authorities claim Romaine did not see Mr. Johnson but the audio where Romaine was giving his statement, saying he saw Mr. Johnson. Romaine said that Mr. Johnson was hit on the left which was fabrication, it happens on the right.  Mr. Romaine should not have been operating a bus, he had others vehicular incident before and after Mr. Johnson demise. Romaine had an incident that causes him to take up a defensive driving course. Romaine driving record is not clean. Also, Romaine is on high blood pressure medication. Romaine was not charged for Mr. Johnson demise he walk away a free man but the eight month old baby who was killed by 49 year old Idowu Daramola bus driver jumped a curb and hit a pole that came crashing down on the infant, who was in a stroller.  The bus driver was charged with death by auto and reckless driving.

Being that Deshon was getting a lot of praises for his talent he wanted a word that best describes his musical skill. Deshon created the word Noneillah because he felt that the word fits his talented lyrical flow. He combined the word none which means No one; not one; nobody:  Not any: No part; not any.  After he gained the knowledge of the prefix none and suffix  ill/illah meant he combined them and created the word Noneillah, which means No one is better than him because his lyrical flow were cool, tight, sweet, good and different, which made him lyrically set apart from the other hip hop artist style of rapping. The police officer was chasing a stolen car and the car hit her head on, which left her disabled. Because of the life threatening accident, Deshon went to colleges close to home. He attended Kean University and Essex County College. In 2013 Deshon was awarded with a Posthumous certificate/degree in Business Administration-Financial Service Option. At the age 22 he also, create Noneillah TV, Noneillah blog radio, Noneillahstore and Noneillah mix tap--- to name a few. Deshon’s legacy will live on in the hearts of many as one whom came out of the sickening sameness of our age where the dare to be different has been dulled by the curse of conformity. Please help us keep the memory of Deshon going by helping us to invest in college student educational financial needs with the Deshon Johnson Memorial Scholarship.

Today March 5, 2016 is my son's Deshon's aka Sean Cos Mason birthday. I miss him every day. My heart yearn for my beloved son every minute, second, hours, days, years and months. The pain grows sharper as time passes by I think how the bus driver Wilson Romaine took him away from me in a tragic way by jumping the curb dragging you to your death. The bus driver walk away free from your death and can spend time with his children but I cannot walk away from the memory how you left this earth. It pains me that I am unable to spend time with him. I live everyday with this gruesome images of your organs all over the pavement. It is like a nightmare movie playing eternally in my mind going on three years. No prayer cannot take this pain away or images away. You was my only child. Forever 26 in heaven.

Soulality and Noneillah's Currant Event News's insight:
New Jersey district attorneys/Essex County Vehicle Homicide Prosecutors must prosecute NJ Transit drivers and other drivers when their reckless behavior causes death or catastrophic injury, say  "Naomi Johnson a mother who son was killed by Coach USA Wilson Romaine operating NJ Transit". "Why is it that if you kill someone while driving intoxicated, the District Attorney/ Essex County Vehicle Homicide Prosecutors / will press charges, but not if you killed or mutilate someone through reckless behavior on the road,".

"Death like this is an incomprehensible loss like all other horrific killings. Each of those victims killed has a mother, a father, a sister, a brother, or a spouse. A family member who's life will never be the same." Yet, these reckless drivers can go back home to be with their family, friends and  continue on with their lives.

Soulality and Noneillah's Currant Event News's insight:

PLEASANTVILLE — Bibi Fernandez — her best friend by her side — stood Tuesday staring at the spot of a Monday accident that killed three teenagers, including her sister.

“I still can't believe this is real," Maribel Lopez said.

"I know," Fernandez replied. "I feel like I'm living in a bad nightmare. I'm still waiting to wake up."

The three teens, two of whom were best friends, died from injuries sustained in the crash with an NJ Transit bus in Pleasantville on Memorial Day.

Friends mourned the teens on social media Tuesday as the investigation continued into what caused the car they were traveling in to swerve into the path of the bus on Franklin Boulevard just before 2 p.m.

Kira Strider, 14, of Pleasantville, and Tevin Campbell, 18, of Absecon, died at the scene. Amber Fernandez, 16, of Pleasantville, died at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City on Tuesday, just after midnight.

The driver, identified by police as Melissa Rodriguez, 18, of Pleasantville, and two other passengers remain hospitalized.

A bouquet of heart-shaped balloons marked the scene where the car came to rest. Bibi Fernandez, 22, came to the spot Tuesday evening with a blue Rosary, her sister's favorite because of its color.

"She always wanted it, but I told her it was protecting me," Fernandez said. "Now, it's for her."

Friends remembered Amber Fernandez as someone who had a bubbly personality.

"She was loving, sarcastic and brilliant," said Jocelyn Quinn, a student at Charter Tech High School for the Performing Arts. "She was just here! Laughing ... giggling ... singing."

Amber was the youngest of six girls and one boy. The rest of the siblings were two years apart, but Amber was "the miracle baby," who excelled at singing, Bibi Fernandez said.

"She was so talented," her sister said, which is why Amber went to CharterTech.

And she was always with her best friend, Kira Strider, who died at the scene.

"Their bond was so strong, not even God could tear them apart," Bibi Fernandez said. "God took them together."

Kira, a freshman at the Atlantic County Institute of Technology, was a “very smart girl who did great in school and loved being with friends,” her cousin Melissa McCorts recalled Tuesday.

She also loved her big brother, Aaron Acompora, and getting her nails and hair done.

“This is a terrible tragedy, and the loss of a wonderful young lady with a promising future,” said former teacher Liza Levitt-Tighe.

ACIT Superintendent Phil Guenther said Kira was a very bright young lady with tremendous potential who was very well liked by students and staff.

Kira was instrumental in founding the Pleasantville Middle School's recycling program, which was recognized at the state level for its success in 2013.

Family and friends of the third victim, Tevin Campbell, could not be reached Tuesday. He had been a student at Atlantic Cape Community College, a school spokesman said.

At least one of the surviving passengers remains in critical condition, police said. The driver of the car was in stable condition.

Quinn said one of the surviving passengers was Fernandez's boyfriend.

Bibi Fernandez said Strider had just been picked up near the accident scene when the crash occurred. A friend noted there is a bump in the road near Reliance Medical Imaging, just before the spot where the car reportedly swerved. Authorities have not said if that played a role in the collision.

A reconstruction of the fatal crash is expected to be conducted within the next few days as part of the joint investigation by Pleasantville police and members of the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Collisions Unit.

According to authorities, Rodriguez had been driving north on Franklin Boulevard when she crossed into oncoming traffic just past Old Turnpike Road.

Bus driver Carmen Mazzagatti Jr., 69, of Galloway Township, tried to avoid a head-on collision, but the vehicles crashed, sending the car scraping along the side of the bus. It then spun around, and ended up facing south, with severe front-end damage.

The bus ended up on the sidewalk between two poles. There were eight passengers in the bus at the time. None of their injuries were serious.

Both drivers were tested for drugs and alcohol, as is standard procedure in fatal crashes, authorities said. Those results were not yet available.

Because she is younger than 21, Rodriguez would have driving restrictions set under the state’s Graduated Driver License law. Those limits govern driving times and how many passengers can be in a car driven by a teen.

Under the law, in order to have more than one passenger in the car, there must be someone who is at least 21 years old and has had a valid license for at least three years. Rodriguez had five passengers, and no one in the car was older than 18, police said.

The GDL also bans the use of cellphones or any other hands-free, interactive, wireless communication device. No information has been released on whether a cell phone or other electronics were being used.

Seat belts also must be worn at all times. The car did not appear to h

Soulality: Top Story: Mother’s Grief grows as memorial in honor of her son, hit and killed by bus, disappears ONE DAY after flowers and balloons left

Soulality and Noneillah's Currant Event News's insight:
At left, the memorial on July 18, 2014. One day later, it is empty - and cleaned up of all flowers and balloons, a candle and a photo of Deshon Johnson.   Article written by The Jersey Tomato Press. Please share with family and friends Diane LilliPosted 7/29/14They say there is no grief greater than a parent who has lost a child. When Montclair student and apple of his mother’s eye Deshon Johnson was hit by a Coach bus and killed in July, 2012, his mother Naomi almost gave up on her own life as well.Deshon Johnson was run down and killed at the age of 22, and though the family is convinced he was not "rushing" to catch the bus (he was early, as they say video proves), no charges were brought against the Coach bus driver in his death. At the time of his death, Deshon was working, attending college and also caring for his mother, Naomi, who was home due to being injured in an accident that left her disabled and needing full-time assistance. The family started a scholarship fund, in honor of Deshon, who was a singer, writer and artist. Though his death did not result in any charges of misdoing, after a grand jury heard the case, the family believes Deshon was the victim of wrongdoing, and are still working to investigate on their own. And, as is the tradtition across the U.S, on the anniversary of Deshon’s untimely and tragic death, his mother and friends and family set up a memorial, complete with flowers and photos to honor him and ask the public to remember his short yet meaningful life. But on the very day afterwards, when the flowers were still as fresh as this mother’s grief will always be, the entire memorial was missing - taken down by the township of Bloomfield.“On July 18, 2014 I had a Remember Deshon Johnson Gathering Honoring him,” said Naomi Johnson. “There were a few people at the vigil where we paid tribute to Deshon. Do you know I went back to the site on July 19, 2014 and the memorial was removed? I went to local businesses and asked if someone had seen who disturbed his memorial.”Sure enough, someone had.“One of the workers at the Nursery said that they saw the town cleaner over in the area of my son's memorial,” continued Naomi Johnson. “They did not let my son’s memorial stay there a week. I think it is inhuman and heartless to trash my son’s memorial.”Calls to the Bloomfield Administrator, (2), the town clerk (2, one with this reporter speaking to someone who promised to find out what happened) were not returned. However, the DPW and Parks director Anthony Nesto called to say he sends his deepest condolences to the family, and that he had no idea about the memorial being put up - or taken down."My condolences and prayers are for your loss," he noted. "I had no idea this memorial was done in his honor. I did not know about it and did not direct a clean up of the memorial."A study of Bloomfield’s ordinances did not show ANY law prohibiting memorials, and only last year a prominent memorial for teens killed in a tragic car accident remained up for over a week in town.To this grieving mother, the town - if indeed Bloomfield is responsible - is acting in a heartless manner.  Please click link to read more of this story http://soulality.blogspot.com/2014/07/mothers-grief-grows-as-memorial-in.html

Soulality: Essex County Prosecutor Office Poor Investigation on Deshon Johnson's Case

Soulality: Essex County Prosecutor Office Poor Investigation on Deshon Johnson's Case | Soulality and Noneillah's Curant News Event | Scoop.it
Soulality and Noneillah's Currant Event News's insight:

On this site is disturbing and compelling information how Essex County Prosecutor handles NJ Transit pedestrian death cases cause by one of their bus drivers. You must listen to this audio that is provided on Soulality blog.  The prosecutor office deem these type of cases  as fatality and bus accident when there is an innocent person life taken so the bus drivers will not be convicted with criminal charges. Also so they will not lose their jobs.

In true reality all of these cases should be trial under involuntary manslaughter or manslaughter depending on what state you live in or vehicular homicide.  Some of these bus drivers continue to driver reckless with ignorance and arrogant behavior because they know they will not go to jail or lose their jobs. Since the bus company protect the bus driver all the time.

Some of  these bus drivers drive more than they supposed for overtime pay. The bus driver is not allowed to work 15 hours in the 24-hour period that is a violation of federal safety regulations.  Driving over the require hours is violated federal regulations commonly known as "10-hour rule" and the "15-hour rule." The 10-hour rule prohibits a bus driver from driving for more than 10 consecutive hours, after which he must take an eight-hour break. The 15-hour rule says a driver can be "on duty" no more than 15 hours in a 24-hour period. "On duty" is defined as both driving and doing any other task related to operating the bus ride. Soulality: Rosemarie D'Alessandro who passed Joan's Law spoke at the Deshon Johnson First Annual College Scholarship Fundraising Dinner

Soulality: Rosemarie D'Alessandro who passed Joan's Law spoke at the Deshon Johnson First Annual College Scholarship Fundraising Dinner | Soulality and Noneillah's Curant News Event | Scoop.it
Soulality and Noneillah's Currant Event News's insight:
Rosemarie D'Alessandro became a mother activist after her daughter, Joan, was killed by her neighbor when she went door-to-door selling Girl Scout cookies.  After the demise of her daughter, she made a very strong effort to push a law to stop Girl Scouts from going door-to-door selling cookies. Rosemarie never gave up trying to make a difference for other parents and to keep their children safe from becoming an easy target by going to people's houses selling cookies.  Rosemarie D'Alessandro, who heads the Joan Angela D'Alessandro Memorial Foundation, has lived in Hillsdale for more than 40 years. It was on Easter Sunday,1973, when Rosemarie D'Alessandro received the news that her 7-year-old daughter Joan was found dead, days after disappearing while selling Girl Scout cookies on her street. Rosemarie D’Alessandro has worked to pass laws related to keeping criminals who sexually assaulted and murdered minors in prison for life at the state and national level. The law she passed is called Joan’s Law. In just a matter of minutes, her life changed forever.  Rosemarie's article touched Naomi Johnson. Naomi told Rosemarie, that if it was not for Susan Little, Naomi's son Deshon's best friend James Little’s mother sharing the link to the article and encouraging her to contact the editor to put the event on the page, Naomi would not have taken a step further to contact the editor who wrote the article to pass on her contact information to Rosemarie. From that point on Rosemarie and Naomi have been communicating about parents advocating for their children. Naomi shared with Rosemarie how her life had changed on a hot summer afternoon when she received a phone called from the Bloomfield police telling her that they have a package and some belonging of hers.  From that statement she thought her son or sister lost something personal with her address affixed onto the unclaimed item.  The police asked Naomi to come to the police station. When Naomi arrived at the Bloomfield police, they told Naomi her son was in a terrible accident and he did not make it. Naomi never fathomed the belonging was her son’s lifeless murdered body.  After, the police told her that story, Naomi thought that Deshon was a passenger on the bus and lost his life while on the bus. A day later Naomi learned her son was not on the bus and that he was mowed down and dragged by the bus driver 50 to 100 feet to his demise by Wilsome Romain, a Coach USA bus driver, who sped around the corner and knocked her child down and dragged him while operating NJ Transit bus 709 on Wednesday, July 18th, 2012. In addition to trying to pass a law for implementing stiffer penalties with some of these bus drivers going to jail for killing innocent people, Naomi is also trying to enforce laws for corrective actions.
Naomi felt that she and Rosemarie had something in common and a strong message to deliver. Naomi became so impressed with Rosemarie's energy to fight to pass laws that she invited Ms. D’Alessandro to speak at The Deshon Johnson First Annual College Scholarship Fundraiser Dinner. Here are some pictures of Rosemarie D’Alessandro giving her speech and with Deshon Johnson’s mother, Naomi. The two mothers are fighting for the same cause making a difference in the world for the human safety of innocent citizens.
