To be clear, what this feature means is that the hashtags will be clickable and grouped together on a page.  Each hashtag will have its own unique Facebook URL with a status update box at the top.  This is great news, because it means you can drive traffic to that URL from your site, Blog or other social platforms to engage users and create even more conversation.

Instead of falling for senseless numbers game, organisations should try to gain organic followers by providing real value to thier stakeholders and customers.

Social media is a great platform for organisations to display their professionalism and customer centricity. Sharing content which is relevant for the viewers is one of the ways of providing value to customers.

Needless to say, it takes effort and sincerity to crave out an effective position online. This is the only way to generate genuine engagement on social media.  Remember it's quality and not quantity that counts.

Thank you Laura, I totally agree with you that Facebook has too much clutter (I look forward to see the changes that are planned for the next week, that should ameliorate this fact). But I am surprised what you say on LinkedIn, I use it a lot and I've never had any problems with phishing. Anyway, the important thing is that each of us finds its way in the middle of all the possibilities that are opening to us up through social media.
Laura Brown's comment, March 9, 2013 9:57 AM
LinkedIn was sending everyone connected to me invites. I didn't know until a few people began complaining about all the invites I was sending them. But, I hadn't sent any out. It was LinkedIn. Check with your contacts. I put LinkedIn as a junk filter so I never get requests from anyone now.

There was an incident a couple of months ago. The site was hacked and thousands of profiles were affected. That's why people got invites from you, probably. The problem has never happened to me.
