Interesting Infographics: The Content Marketing Hierarchy of Needs | CustomerThink

Interesting Infographics: The Content Marketing Hierarchy of Needs | CustomerThink | social media management | Scoop.it
Have you ever heard of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs? It’s a useful concept for sales and marketing to create better connections and relationships with prospects and clients. Abraham Maslow wrote a paper in 1943, “A Theory of Human Motivation” and subsequent book, Motivation and Personality, where he summarized the 5 needs most people search for. The more basic needs are represented at the bottom of the pyramid. Contently has applied this concept to content marketing which you can read below. It’s a more strategic approach to creating your content to better connect with readers. I think for each layer, we can add other elements depending on your target market. How are you or will you incorporate Maslow’s Hierarch of Needs into your content?

The 15 Best Infographics of 2014

The 15 Best Infographics of 2014 | social media management | Scoop.it

Every year people proclaim the death of something or other in marketing -- and the death of the infographic doesn't escape conversation. It's probably because while more people have caught on to the power of infographics for communications or marketing initiatives, not all of them are doing it well -- so it's hard to separate the wheat from the chaff.

These 15, however, managed to stand out. My criteria here were not scientific. I looked for infographics that I simply could not stop reading til the very end -- or in the case of the interactive ones in the latter half of this post, the ones I couldn't stop exploring. Enjoy perusing the best of what 2014's infographics had to offer, ranked in no particular order (except for #1 -- I love #1)....

The World of Social Media 2014: Statistics, Facts & Figures

The World of Social Media 2014: Statistics, Facts & Figures | social media management | Scoop.it

It’s been a big year for the world, and it’s been a big year for social media.

The World Cup, Sochi Olympics, iPhone 6 announcement, death of Robin Williams and missing Malaysia Flight 370 were huge on Twitter, Facebook and, well, everywhere that had any kind of share button.

Social media today is increasingly used as a way to rally communities around common causes to inspire (and sometimes try to force) change.

This year, everything from the Ukrainian Crisis to the Ferguson jury decision has triggered enormous social and global conversation, something that just wasn’t possible even a decade ago.

Check the visual for an in-depth look at social media around the world in 2014, which comes courtesy of AddThis.

Support meaningful interactions:  the number one reason why social media is thriving on a narrow scale.

Couples talk to others about their wedding questions, dilemmas and options to get feedback. Having extra opinions outside of immediate family and friends is a good avenue for couples that don’t necessarily want to share all of the details of their day in advance. Couples like to post their speeches, pictures and ideas, or weigh in with their opinions on other members’ weddings.
