The social life of NHS websites..part two

Here's the second part of looking into how 'social' NHS websites are at present.
I've been looking at how much activity is generated through Facebook originating from the NHS website itself (for techies: liking, sharing or commenting through the Facebook graph). Basically I'm looking at Facebook activity as well as how many Twitter shares the site has had (plus I've included the page rank of the URL).

It’s not what you say…

Go back three or four years and if someone had told me that we would be utilizing social media in all its many, and ever growing, tools and applications in order to improve healthcare I probably would have been both amused and horrified at the same time.

Richard Smith: 10 tips on using and enjoying social media

Richard Smith: 10 tips on using and enjoying social media | Social Media in Healthcare & the NHS | Scoop.it

Tomorrow I’m running a workshop for medical students at Imperial College London on medical journalism, and I thought it essential to include something on using and enjoying social media. I imagined that I would find dozens of guides on the web, but to my surprise I couldn’t find anything satisfactory. And much of what I did find was negative, warning medical students about the dangers of using social media. I thought that a great shame and misguided when social media become more important every day, so I thought I’d put together my own tips—and it’s clear that ten is the right number for tips.
