Promote Your Product Effectively With Video Marketing | Seo Fantastic

Promote Your Product Effectively With Video Marketing | Seo Fantastic | Social Buzz News | Scoop.it

"Video marketing has the potential to be a very effective strategy for anyone willing to devote effort and effort. Knowledge is key if you wish to have a campaign though. By utilizing the following tips and techniques, you can come up with a truly effective plan to help your business.

When using YouTube for posting your videos, ensure you are utilizing the editing features that the site provides. This includes things like video annotations. You can provide a discount code, additional information or your URL this way.

You can’t expect viewers to watch videos over 20 minutes. You may need all of that long only if you are showing your audience how a certain product works. If you are simply talking to your audience to advertise a deal or keep them up to date, keep your video to no longer than 10 minutes."

Via Thomas Faltin
RichSheraton's insight:

Yes it has the potential to help market your products, but only if done correctly. Just like any Social Media property, if you try to hard sell people they will turn off fast.

Using short, informational videos of around 2 minutes or less would be better considering the attention span of folks these days.

Just make it interesting and informative with an effective call to action at the end and you will get better results. Also include your website address on the bottom of the whole video and/or in the call to action at the end.

But don't think that just getting the video onto Youtube will get you tons of eyeballs watching it. You will need to promote it on other social media sites as well as uploading to other video hosting sites.

Using Selfies in Social Media Marketing

Using Selfies in Social Media Marketing | Social Buzz News | Scoop.it
There are already a raft of examples of brands building campaigns around selfies, some successfully, others not so much. As with any trend, businesses will seek to access to that ready-made audience, but it also takes a level of comprehension on how best to do so.
RichSheraton's insight:

Yes what better way to get instant approval... or disapproval than with a Selfie! ;)

I cannot see how Selfies would be good for self esteem. I CAN see that people of low self-esteem would use them as a way to try and get approval. But if they don't get it...

I am with Andrew and not really fond of my own photos. I need to get over it right? ~lol

The Selfie trend is not going anywhere soon, so expect more puckered-up lip poses in the years to come ;)

5 Social Networking Promotions That Backfired Spectacularly

5 Social Networking Promotions That Backfired Spectacularly | Social Buzz News | Scoop.it

The great thing about social media is that it allows whatever stupid thing you want to say to reach your audience instantly. The terrible thing about social media is that it allows whatever stupid thing you want to say to reach your audience instantly. It takes about 30 seconds of thought to accurately gauge whether your brilliant marketing gimmick will build brand engagement or be prosecuted as some kind of hate crime in certain countries in Europe.

The folks on this list did not take those 30 seconds......

Via Jeff Domansky
RichSheraton's insight:

Wow! Creating games like that and saying ridiculous stuff just to make sales. The bad side of Social Media?

What do they think folks on Social Media are? Half-crazed loonies?

I believe most people are good and have love for their friends and fellow humans. Call me an idealist, I don't care.

Welcome to the NEW marketing where all that nutty "old marketing" fails. I love Social Media! ;)

23 Facts About Women and Advertising - TheInternetVision.com

23 Facts About Women and Advertising - TheInternetVision.com | Social Buzz News | Scoop.it

Marketers spend most of their time trying to appeal to their target demographics, but when it comes to women, many of them are missing the mark. Given that women make up half the population and have a disproportionate amount of purchasing power, isn’t it in your best interest to try to understand them?

Here are 23 surprising facts you probably didn’t know about women and advertising.

-  Women account for 85% of consumer purchases (She-conomy)

-  Despite this, 91% of women say advertisers don’t understand them...

Via Jeff Domansky
RichSheraton's insight:

She-conomy! ~LOL

This is very interesting, but I wonder how many arrogant, male marketing-gurus will sit up and take notice.

"91% of women say advertisers don't understand them..." Wow, that's amazing. Gave me ideas for a few different products ;)

It's time to start talking TO women rather than AT them.  What do women want? Hmmmmmm. I am sure big marketing companies throw millions trying to find answers to that question. But they still don't get it. Why? Because they look at women as walking ATMs, as potentials buyers as a whole rather than individuals.

What people post on Social Media sometimes is moronic... and very incriminating. Do they think what happens on Facebook stays on Facebook?

Maybe in the future they will have a Social Media prison where they lock up the logins of Social Media culprits. Okay, now I am just being silly... but not as silly as the dorks who post all their dirty laundry on Social Media ;)

People Would Actually Rather See A Banner Ad Than Read A Sponsored Story

People Would Actually Rather See A Banner Ad Than Read A Sponsored Story | Social Buzz News | Scoop.it

A study from Contently reveals that people don't get what sponsored content is and they don't seem to trust it either.

A new study from Contently reveals that people really don’t understand what it means when they come across a post online that’s tagged with the term “Sponsored Content.”

Plus, many participants said a site loses its credibility when it runs a post like this. Contently surveyed 542 people and found that many readers could not even agree on a definition for the term....

Via Jeff Domansky
RichSheraton's insight:

LOL! Yes people don't trust what they don't understand. So sponsored content is just another word for hidden advertising?

People want to buy stuff so why hide it or disguise it or embellish it somehow. Personally, I think that is the old, traditional style marketing approach where you have to put bell and whistles on everything or make it funny so people will buy.

They don't understand that when you try to trick someone, it will get found out and then THAT is the thing that will travel faster than the speed of light over Social Media.

Stop trying to trick people, you always get found out.

I Love Social Media!
