Measure Your Content Curation Success: A 10 Question Scorecard | Social Media | Scoop.it

Excerpted from article on Content Marketing Institute:
"in our era of limited time and budget resources, how do you measure the quality of your day-to-day and week-to-week content curation efforts?
As Joe Pulizzi writes, “Your job, like that of a museum curator, is to unearth the best content on the planet in your niche, so that your museum doesn’t close down for a lack of visitors.”

To help you gauge the quality and consistency of your content curation efforts, I’ve created the simple worksheet below. Here, find out how you can use it to score your ability to discover, share, and improve your efforts to create “the best content marketing on the planet” on an ongoing basis.

1. Relevance
2. Uniqueness
3. Context
4. Adding value
5. Concise
6. Visual engagement
7. Organization
8. Efficiency
9. Tracking
10. Serendipity

Here are a few bonus tips for making the most of your use of the content curation scorecard:
- Use three-hole paper
- Scoring Binders and divider tabs
- Commit to consistency
- Make it a group effort
- Comments..."

Each element and final tips are analyzed with more information and some external links to other posts. Read full original article here:

Valuable information.
Martin (Marty) Smith's comment, July 2, 2013 3:46 PM
I like Tyler's tip too. We live in a a "Behind The Curtain" time. Everyone wants to peek into how things are done. In fact sometimes I think we need to be more careful about timing. Cinemax puts a "behind the scenes" look at one of my favorite action series (StrikeBack) and it ruins the illusion of the episode I'm about to watch. So LOVE this tip, but don't share too much at the wrong time.

It is important to be one step ahead on the competition. This is suggested in this post and I completely agree with that.

As soon as Facebook will introduce hashtags in his research, there will be a great advantage if you already have hashtags in your posts.

How Do You Find The Time For Social Media? - Forbes

How Do You Find The Time For Social Media? - Forbes | Social Media | Scoop.it

How do you find the time for social media? This is the question I get asked probably more than any other.

I have four lovely children, a demanding job, a wife with a successful career and more. So how do I find the time to tweet, blog, share, and comment?

The answer is simple: I make the time for social media because I think it’s important.

I believe that business people in general, and marketers especially, have an obligation to do more than just consume content or share other people’s content, but to become a content creator and to contribute to your work and your life.

I think its fair to stay that at the beginning of your social media journey it can be very time consuming getting to grips with the different platforms and building up followers and looking for decent content to share. You also have to develop your style. That said, with the right tools and mindset your time investment lessens substantially - unless you get hooked!
Martin Gysler's comment, April 19, 2013 7:56 AM
Indeed, at the beginning the most things are difficult and need more time. After it's rather the mind set who dictate the invested time in social media, it's right, I agree with you Gemma. But in my sens the invested time is worth it because it create many very interesting contacts across the world.

5 tips for repairing your damaged online reputation

5 tips for repairing your damaged online reputation | Social Media | Scoop.it

Through my own experience as an online marketer, content writer and blogger, I know that online reputations are very important. I also know that just a few years ago there was a very popular saying that was used by some of the so-called online gurus, and that was to “fake it until you make it.”

Unfortunately, faking it may have ruined many people long before they had any chance of making it. You can’t hide from a bad reputation.

The truth is the public is not stupid. They can see through the nonsense that some marketers put out there. People appreciate being treated with respect and dignity.

Is Facebook Stepping Up to Search & Display?

Is Facebook Stepping Up to Search & Display? | Social Media | Scoop.it

If there is one company on a mission to capitalize on search and display, it’s Facebook. Recent evidence this year shows that the social giant is stepping up its game across both channels – in search, they have announced the Graph Search, and in display, they have made big waves with consistent announcements surrounding the Facebook Exchange (FBX).

The Anatomy Of A Tweet [INFOGRAPHIC] - AllTwitter | Social Media | Scoop.it

What’s in a tweet?

Quite a lot, actually, and certainly more than “just” 140 characters (or less). Each tweet that is published on Twitter – and more than one billionare now sent every 2-3 days on the popular micro-blogging platform – is made up of a number of different elements, called metadata, only some of which are visible on the surface.

Sigrid, in my opinion, the best plan is to sell yourself on social media. Trust is the most important in this world and if your company name is not Nike or something like that, your name is definitely the best plan to create confidence.
