Team USA and Portugal in 2-2 tie at World Cup

Team USA and Portugal in 2-2 tie at World Cup | Socceroos and the World cup | Scoop.it
Varela thumps a header into the net to keep Portugal alive and deny Americans a spot in the second round, but U.S. can still advance
Gurleen Kaur Kaloti's insight:

The main message being conveyed by the journalist in this article is the tension between the two teams of USA and Portugal. In the beginning of this article the composer suggests that the only and accurate reason why this was a tie was because of Cristiano Ronaldo. The heat has been on since the both teams tied the head to head battle of who goes through to the next round will all be decided in game 3 when USA takes on Germany and Portugal takes on Ghana. Who ever wins out of these two matches will decide who goes through to the next round from that group. Some viewers may have different perspectives to others. This is because this article can be seen as a positive and also negative message. Adding to this some portuguese people might think this is a positive article and that there is no bad says in this, but to rethink this some American followers might think that the reason why Portugal won is because of good luck, not because of Ronaldo's set up kick to Silvestre Varela (no. 18 of the Portugal National football Team, playing as a Midfielder).

The game was very intense. At times you did not even know who was going to win. The article that Gurleen has provided is very good if you want to know some of the stuff that happened throughout the game.. I strongly agree with the article that the only reason why Portugal tied was cause of Good LUck not because of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Gurleen Kaur Kaloti's insight:

The purpose of this slide share is to give an insight on the FIFA World Cup 2014. It is mostly directed to those who need a guide of what happens and what teams qualified into the World cup. It also gives a heads up to what venues and stadiums  the teams are playing at. This slide share also gives a timeline of the past two world cups and the coming two so if you want to go you can plan it out and have an enjoyable holiday. In my point of view the message that is being conveyed is positive. This is because without this heads up of information you won't know wants happening when and why. This slide share is like the FIFA World Cup 2014, but instead of it being physical it is all put into a slide share powerpoint.

Gurleen Kaur Kaloti's insight:

What this youtube video is trying to show is that eventhough Australia has come a fair way to Brazil, they still have the same support of people like they do when there he back home in Australia. Another reason why Brazilians go for the Socceroo's is because they have the same colours as the Brazilian National Team (Gold and Green). Overall this video has a good say in which makes a lot of Aussie fans really happy. Having all these people turn up at the Socceroo's training base camp is an opportunity. The other reason why also

Socceroos will learn from Chile loss: Cahill

Socceroos will learn from Chile loss: Cahill | Socceroos and the World cup | Scoop.it
Tim Cahill says the Socceroos will learn from their loss to Chile after going toe-to-toe with their more illustrious opponents.
Gurleen Kaur Kaloti's insight:

The message that is being conveyed here is that eventhough we the Socceroo's lost, we are still going to come forward against the Dutch and play our best. We will go back and learn from our mistakes and practice our best to bring the best of our plays to the field. This quote said by Tim Cahill  "We did that and we'll learn from this and we'll go into the next game [against the Netherlands] very positive", suggests that eventhough they lost against Chile they are still going to think positive and they will positively bring their best foot forward like said before. From the writer's point of view I think this article is a positive message. Eventhough they said that they lost and stuff, the response from most of the players have come out positive, and the most important statement is that eventhough they lost they are still not giving up and still staying positive even if they lost 1 match.

1. The main message being conveyed in this article the effort and hard work that Australia has put in, in the World Cup. The fact that the famous Socceroos player has the spirit to keep fighting and not let the country down is amazing. He said "they will learn rrom the lose", that is the kind of aggitude Australia needs towards football.

2. The message conveyed is positive. This article evidently shows that it is aisotope article by quoting what Tim Cahill had said about their lose to Chile. It is great to see an Australian team get back up on their feet after losing a game.

3. The article could influence an individual's attitude by having more faith in Australia even after a great lose. To still cheer on their country.

Gurleen Kaur Kaloti's insight:

This radio article has no message, but either way it is trying to show that even if you can't watch it live on the TV, you can still listen to it like you're watching it wherever you go. The message that is being conveyed is a positive. This is because it is giving you a chance to listen to it and for you to be apart of it eventhough you have no time to watch it due to work or maybe you just have no time.
