Yankees Give Fans Free Ticket For '14 Game After Tuesday's Bobblehead Blunder - SportsBusiness Daily | SportsBusiness Journal | SportsBusiness Daily Global

Yankees Give Fans Free Ticket For '14 Game After Tuesday's Bobblehead Blunder - SportsBusiness Daily | SportsBusiness Journal | SportsBusiness Daily Global | SM2 | Scoop.it
The Yankees last night announced that they would offer a free ticket to a '14 regular-season game, excluding opening day and Old-Timers’ Day, to anyone who held a ticket to Tuesday night’s game following the trouble with the Mariano Rivera...
Joe Gantz's insight:

In this article I learned about the Mariono Rivera bobblehead blunder and how the Yankees had to find a way to please there very angry fans. I found it interesting that in exchange for having to wait a little longer for a bobblehead than hoped for all people who atteneded the game will recieve a ticket to a game next season, its a little much for a slight incovinience. I selected this article because I am a Red Sox fan and seeing that Yankees screwed up is always funny and I am very interested in ticket sales. The thing im taking away from this article is that when you anger the fans you have to do everyhting in your power to make them happy again to prevent a fall out.

Patriots' Brand Unfazed By Off-Field Troubles As Ticket Sales, Ratings Remain Strong - SportsBusiness Daily | SportsBusiness Journal | SportsBusiness Daily Global

Patriots' Brand Unfazed By Off-Field Troubles As Ticket Sales, Ratings Remain Strong - SportsBusiness Daily | SportsBusiness Journal | SportsBusiness Daily Global | SM2 | Scoop.it
The Patriots' brand appears as strong as ever  entering the '13 NFL season, as it is undented by shortfalls and transgressions that might doom another business, according to Callum Borchers of the BOSTON GLOBE.
Joe Gantz's insight:

In this article about the aftermaths of a very rough off-season for the New England Patriots I learned that even if bad things happen to an organization the fan base can still stand behind them. It says a lot about the fans for team to always stand behind a team's brand after so much change. I found it interesting that Patriots have sold out 20 strait seasons including this one already. I selected this article because I am a big fan of the patriots and I followed the terrible off-season, so i wanted to see what they had to say about the patriots in the pre-season. This article tought how important it is to have a solid fan base for an organization in the event of disaster.

NFL Indicates Cam Newton's Usage Of Under Armour Facemask Clips Is Rule Violation - SportsBusiness Daily | SportsBusiness Journal | SportsBusiness Daily Global

NFL Indicates Cam Newton's Usage Of Under Armour Facemask Clips Is Rule Violation - SportsBusiness Daily | SportsBusiness Journal | SportsBusiness Daily Global | SM2 | Scoop.it
NFL Dir of NFC Football Communications Randall Liu said Panthers QB Cam Newton's usage of Under Armour-branded clips on his facemask is a violation of the NFL's uniform policy, as the clips should be clear of all logos, according to Chris Smith of...
Joe Gantz's insight:

I learned in this article that in the NFL it is a big deal to wear any brand that is not endorsed by them, Cam Newton's Under Armor clips for his visor on his helmet are violations since the NFL's equitment is all Nike. I found it interesting that it wasnt just Newton who violated these rules, also three other teammates of his were wearing the same clips and the Panthers equitment team said they use them since they are easier to manage. I selected this article because I saw it in the headlines as a recent article and it look kinda interesting. The thing I'll take away from this article is that in pro sports lisenceing is a very big deal and not something to mess around with unless you want to get fined.
