Syracuse Considers Moving Basketball Court To Center Of Carrier Dome For Duke Game - SportsBusiness Daily | SportsBusiness Journal | SportsBusiness Daily Global | SM | Scoop.it
Syracuse Univ. officials are considering a plan that would move the basketball court to the middle of the Carrier Dome's football field for its game against Duke this season, according to Mike Waters of the Syracuse POST-STANDARD.
Joe Gantz's insight:

In this article i learned that Syracuse has possible plans to celebrate their move to the ACC by breaking the the record for attendance of a homecourt basketball game by moving their court to the center of the the football stadium. I found it interesting that it would be quite difficult to move the court due too the wiring that is already set up for its current location and the season ticket holders would have there seats moved due too the shift. I selected this article becsue I am a big Syracuse basketball fan and their stadium has always interested me. One thing that stuck out at me was the huge decision the athletic director must make and how difficult it will be to choose to move it or keep it the same due to inconveniences.

MetLife Stadium Suites Commanding Record Prices For Super Bowl XLVIII - SportsBusiness Daily | SportsBusiness Journal | SportsBusiness Daily Global

MetLife Stadium Suites Commanding Record Prices For Super Bowl XLVIII - SportsBusiness Daily | SportsBusiness Journal | SportsBusiness Daily Global | SM | Scoop.it
Suites at MetLife Stadium for Super Bowl XLVIII will be looking at record prices, according to Darren Rovell of ESPN.com.
Joe Gantz's insight:

In this article I learned that suites for super bowl games reach into the high six figures. I found it interesting that the company in charge of selling the suites in Metlife stadium are also responsible for selling the suites for every Jet and Giant regular season game. I slected this artical cause the word super bowl caught my eye, and the super bowl is one of the things I look forward to every year. This information helped me realize how financially smart the decision to have the super bowl in a cold weather location was because it caused the cost of the indoor suites to set record super bowl costs.

NHL Hopes Momentum From Exciting Postseason Carries Into '13-14 Season - SportsBusiness Daily | SportsBusiness Journal | SportsBusiness Daily Global | SM | Scoop.it
The NHL could not have asked for a better script for the Stanley Cup Playoffs following the lockout at the beginning of the season, and the momentum from the postseason likely will spill over into what should be an amazing season next year with multiple...
Joe Gantz's insight:

I learned in this article that the NHL benefited from the lockout that shortened the season. Popularity boosted due to the terrific postseason with fresher players than in years past due to the shortened season. This article made a very interesting point that if the NHL shortened their season like the one past popularity would sky rocket. I selected this article because I am very interested in the NHL and how the off season went so I searched it and this came up. I hope this information will be very useful to me when I try to get a job in the NHL and ideas like this could help me advance myself.
