WordHippo

WordHippo | Shmoop and other Web 2.0 tools for English & Language Arts | Scoop.it

This great site is a sort of hybrid dictionary/translator/Thesaurus/word search engine  -  All these features in one spot! Its cool features include finding another word for a word, the opposite meaning of a word, the actual meaning of a word and translating a word into six different languages. All of these are can be clicked, linking to other similar nouns for each word. You can have the word placed in context with the “Sentences with the word” feature or even find the plural/singular/past tense/present tense of any word! Perhaps the most helpful is the “Find words” feature; you can search for words by letter (1 through 10) either starting with, ending with or containing whatever letter you type.
