The 11 most anti-capitalist quotes from Martin Luther King Jr. | Seth's Soundings | Scoop.it
Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. To be fair, I guess I should wish “Sorry it’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Day” to the people who don’t believe it should be a holiday and the politicians who voted against making it one. I’m talking to you, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) Sen. John McCain (R-AZ),  Sen. Richard Shelby (R-AL), Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-WI) Rep. Hal Rogers (R-KY), Sen. Johnny Isakson (R-GA), Rep. John …

Polishing the silver

Polishing the silver | Seth's Soundings | Scoop.it
It has become an annual lenten ritual, pulling out rags and the pink paste that smells of wintergreen to polish my baptismal bowl. It’s a sterling silver original (design from 1655) - made small for a child perfectly round and simple. A trinity of circles form a sturdy handle on one side for little hands to grab. M.A.A. is engraved there, echoes of an earlier identity, and on the bottom in a fine, worn script: March 26, 1950. Grateful: A Love Song to the World | KarmaTube

Grateful: A Love Song to the World | KarmaTube | Seth's Soundings | Scoop.it
Musicians Nimo Patel and Daniel Nahmod brought together dozens of people from around the world to create this beautiful, heart-opening melody. Inspired by the 21-Day Gratitude Challenge, the song is a celebration of our spirit and all that is a blessing in life. For the 21 Days, over 11,000 participants from 118 countries learned that “gratefulness” is a habit cultivated consciously and a muscle built over time. As a famous Roman, Cicero, once said, “Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all others.” This soul-stirring music video, created within a week by a team of volunteers, shines the light on all the small things that make up the beautiful fabric of our lives.
