Autistic children are more likely to benefit from early, intensive therapy.

Via YourTherapySource
Ella Sesar's insight:

This article talked about how it would be highly beneficial for autistic kids to get therapy at a young age. In the article it said that it boosted social communication skills and helps with intellectual impaired kids. I read this article because I have an autistic cousin Stewie. He has a lot of self confidence and isn't shy around new people but if he was I wonder if it would've helped!

Ella Sesar's insight:

This article listed the schooling and exactly what a nutritionist does to help people. I still think that being a trainer for athletes or physical therapist would be more enjoyable because I like to eat unhealthy sometimes, I dont think i could eat healthy everyday and teach others how to. But going to the gym and helping people would be more my style.

Ella Sesar's insight:

This article shows how many trainers are on sight and again a different perspective for me. It was their experiences on the field helping injured athletes. The article also showed how the trainers develop friendships with the players and the hardest thing is telling them they cant play, but its all for the better. The trainers want the athletes to be fully healed when they go out to play so they don't come back at all or so they don't come back even worse.

Ella Sesar's insight:

This article listed important reason why schools should have an athletic trainer and it really made me realize how important they are. During a football game for example if someone needs to be carried off the field because of a broken arm the trainers are trained to do that, not the coaches. They also spend a lot of time trying to prevent injuries which is very important because you wouldn't want your entire team broken and hurt.

Under the large umbrella of Exercise Science, the term “Sports Medicine” can have a wide range of meanings which may also consist of an array of disciplines, including the biomechanical, physiological, psychological, and ...

My thoughts:

This article was very helpful because it gave several options besides personal training that would be beneficial tho those with an exercise physiology degree. I am now also interested in being a chiropractor or dwelving into the sports medicine field. Another viable option could be a strength and conditioning coach which is essentially a next tier personal trainer.

Via Bogdan Shmat
Ella Sesar's insight:

I liked how I could see how many years of school you need for each career. It makes me more interested in being in the sports medicine field next year. I'm really interested in being a physical therapist or a trainer myself. The more research I do the more I'll know about the career I want to have.

Alexander 's curator insight, November 26, 2013 11:49 AM

I now realize that with a physiology degree it opens the job possibilities up greatly. If becoming a personal trainer doesn't work out for me I can have other jobs that I could qualify for like a strength and conditioning coach or something in sports medicine. Sports medicine is a very broad topic with many jobs under its umbrella. This helps me greatly because now I can focus on schools that offer this degree and narrow my school choice down. Overall, this is a great article because it opened up to me what other jobs I could go into with just this one degree and you can have many possibilities to what job you want.
