Thanks Asil for your kind comments.
Alexina's curator insight, January 27, 2014 10:27 AM

Though these are using the Second Life grid, most of these should work for InWorldz too.

Alexina's curator insight, April 6, 2014 1:15 PM

Most of these are not just for Second Life, but for all virtual world girds such as InWorldz, Kitely, OSGrid, etc.

SL Tutorials: Blender Avastar Rigging and Shape Editing Tips and Tricks for Hair Making

SL Tutorials: Blender Avastar Rigging and Shape Editing Tips and Tricks for Hair Making | Second Life Tutorials | Scoop.it

SL hair making is a big thing. It seems lately a large number of people have jumped on the bandwagon, and unlike many other areas in SL, that quickly get over flooded with designers of the same style or genre, it seems that hair, is one of those items that we can NEVER get enough of. I personally have had the pleasure of befriending a number of fellow hair creators and learning from them tips and tricks on how to create hair, how to use the tools in the programs we have, and how to make it all work in SL.

The Problem: Fitted Mesh an Alpha Tutorial

The Problem: Fitted Mesh an Alpha Tutorial | Second Life Tutorials | Scoop.it

I suspect anyone that has worn mesh clothes is very aware of skin-poke-through and ‘holes’ from the Alpha Layers making parts of the avatar invisible. I am particularly annoyed by both. But, is there anything we can do? That is the question asked at Fabulously Free in SL. Here I’ll provide the techy answer and information. I’ll also link to good tutorials.

SL Newser - Places: Geo Roulette: A Game of Random Explorations

SL Newser - Places: Geo Roulette: A Game of Random Explorations | Second Life Tutorials | Scoop.it

There are a lot of times when I find myself alone in Second Life™, especially because I log in often, at 5:00 AM my time, which is 2 AM in SL. So, I have devised ways to keep myself amused while solitary. Geo Roulette is a game I made up that I based on my love for exploring the grid. SL is huge, and the only way to see things that I might not see is to depend upon luck.

Playing 'Geo Roulette' DrFran visits Sverdlovsk , Les Terres d’Haelis and Moscow Red Square

Annie Brightstar's curator insight, November 17, 2014 6:15 AM

Ever feel like just exploring new places? A few years ago Xymbers Slade wrote about doing so using the system of Stargates then. But suppose you have no idea where to find one? DrFran found a new way to visit locations at random and made a game out of it: Geo Roulette.

[ Euphoria ] Low saturation dull deposit - working with Windlight - Second Life Photography

[ Euphoria ] Low saturation dull deposit - working with Windlight - Second Life Photography | Second Life Tutorials | Scoop.it

The title of this blogpost is the name of a Windlight-setting, After some thinking and pondering I decided to turn this challenge into a mini-tutorial on how I usually play around for let’s say: a portrait of myself! I never use studio’s or any prim-background for portraits, I prefer to play in the outdoors and always either stand in a sandbox – with nothing behind me – or in some ocean, with my back to the open sea, allowing me to use the sun and moon and whatever to create the shadows and light I want.
