Perilla frutescens is an Asian plant that is used in Cardio Cocktail because it is high in Omega 3 fatty acids. Rather than using fish oil which has had some problems with contamination, the makers of Cardio Cocktail decided to use a plant based Omega 3 oil, Perilla frutescens(perilla).  Now researchers are finding that there maybe another reason to take Cardio Cocktail with Perilla frutescens other than just for your cardiovascular health. It seems that this . Perilla is a memeber of the mint family and has also been shown to be anti-inflammatory and tumor preventing as well. If you suffer from allergies, like so many people do this time of year, Cardio Cocktail, or at least Perilla frutescens maybe something you might want to check out.

Vitamin C Heart Health

Vitamin C is probably one of the most talked about vitamins when it comes to our health and immune system. The late nobel prize winner Linus Pauling had a lot to say about this vitamin in particular and spent much time trying to prove the many benefits that one can receive from supplementing with this Vitamin.

Vitamin C is recognized for it’s antioxidant properties. Oxidation is believed to be a major factor in aging and inflammation. If you can lower oxidation you can lower inflammation, improve your health and slow down aging.

Dr. Matthis Rath was an associate of Linus Pauling and sort of took off where Linus Pauling left off. Dr. Rath believes vitamin C to be a major player in health and a component with regards to a healthy cardiovascular system. While many from the medical community look down on such natural therapies, study after study seems to confirm what these scientist have been saying all alone. Supplementation with Vitamin C. can be beneficial for our health and Cardiovascular System. Here is a Danish study that support their claim.

A new Danish study underscores the benefits of eating healthy meals high in vitamin C. A reduced risk of heart disease has been linked to high concentrations of vitamin C in the blood as a result of eating fruits and vegetables. The reason this vitamin is so necessary is it supports normal physiological functions, builds connective tissues within the body, and also helps with iron absorption. Vitamin C Benefits Include Lower Risk Of Heart Disease, Which Is Why You Should Eat Those Fruits And Veggies

Plastics and Heart Health

No doubt, if you have an interest in being healthy you have heard of the dangers of plastics in our environment. One plastic that is in the news a lot regarding health is Bisphenol A (BPA). BPA’s have been linked to many health concerns. One conern is how BPA is not broken down inside our bodies. It actually acts as a hormone disrupter inside our bodies and can cause all kinds of problems from hormone imbalances to obesity.

So how does BPA get into our bodies in the first place. Well, you would be hard pressed to find a food that does not come in contact with plastic. Many plastic water bottles are made with BPA. Canned food that we purchase are lined with a plastic that is made from Bisphenol A. Most alarming in all the studies on BPA is that it seems to be a potential risk for children and pregnant mothers. In 2012 the FDA banned the use of BPA in baby bottles.

Now there seems to be another risk from BPA in our diet, high blood pressure. A study preformed by the journal Hypertension looked at 60 participants who were given soy milk from glass and soy milk from a container made with BPA. The results. Those drinking from the BPA containers had a 1600 percent increase in BPA levels in their urine and their systolic blood pressure rose onaverage 5 percent.

Maylin Rodriguez-Paez RN We know that canned foods aren’t the healthiest of food choices. Their high sodium content and lack of fresh nutrients alone are worthy of concern. Researchers from Korea found that BPA, a chemical found in most canned foods, may elevate blood pressure. The Life Extension Blog: BPA Increases Blood Pressure

While BPa may increase blood pressure it seems that the simple amino acid arginine has just the opposite affect.   Study after study on Pubmed shows the benefits of supplementing with arginine.  It plays a major part in our cardiovascular health.  That is why every serving of Cardio Cocktail has 5 grams of l. arginine.  You can learn more about the Benefits of Cardio Cocktail by visiting the link.

The article below point out how inflammation plays a part in cardiovascular disease and how the use of arginine calms inflammation and improves cardiovascular health.

Disease or injuries to the endothelial cells cause inflammation, which is an important marker of cardiovascular disease. Stress and high cholesterol promote inflammation.  Read more here

Microbiome and Health

What many people do not know about their body is that there are more foreign microbes on us and in us than there are of our own body’s cells. How many more? We are actually outnumbered 10 to 1.

That may be an interesting fact but did you know that it is this microbiome in and on our bodies that play a significant part in our health and well-being. It even plays a part in how much we eat and how much we weight.

Understanding this can be a major change in the way we see our health and in the way we maintain it or even treat disease. If what we put into our bodies has an effect on our microbiome, and it does, then perhaps we need to be more careful about our choices.

GMO’s For Food

Many scientist like to point out that GMO’s (Genetically Modified Organism) pose no threat to the health of the human body. Could it be that these scientists are not considering the health of our microbiome? If GMO’s have an impact on the microbes that line our gut, then they definitely have an impact on our health and well-being. I think it would be interesting to see a study that shows the results that GMO’s have on the microbiome community. Perhaps there is some GMO scientist that would want to volunteer for such a study.

One of the quickest and easiest ways to improve your gut health is via your diet, as the microbes in your body consume the same foods you do. The beneficial ones tend to feed on foods that are known to benefit health, and vice versa. Sugar, for example, is a preferred food source for fungi that produce yeast infections and sinusitis, whereas healthy probiotic-rich foods like fermented vegetables boost populations of health-promoting bacteria, thereby disallowing potentially pathogenic colonies from taking over. Cardio Cocktail Vitamin C

Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid is a powerful antioxidant that is used by our body for tissue growth and repair, immune support and adrenal gland function. Vitamin C also assist the body in the absorption of iron. Some studies show that vitamin C can reduce cholesterol levels and helps with high blood pressure as well as the reduction of plaque in the arteries.

The human body cannot manufacture vitamin C and must obtain vitamin C through the diet. Scurvy is a disease that shows the importance of vitamin C when it comes to cardiovascular health. When ancient sailors were at sea for long periods of time they had a tendency to develop this disease. The characteristics of scurvy are poor wound healing excessive bleeding, edema, weakness and bleeding under the skin. When sailors added limes to their diet, a fruit which offers vitamin C to the body, scurvy ceased to exist.

Vitamin C is an important supplement to support cardiovascular health and well-being. While it is best to eat fruits and vegetables that are high in vitamin C, some studies show that supplementation has also been very beneficial. Good sources of vitamin C are avocados, beet greens, broccoli, brussels sprouts, cantaloupe, grapefruit, women’s, mangoes, strawberries, tomatoes, and asparagus.

Heart Benefits of Radishes

Radishes are a good source of vitamin C. Vitamin C has been noted by many in the health field for it’s cardiovascular benefits. Linus Pauling was a huge supporter of Vitamin C and believed that large doses of vitamin C could help to prevent cancer. Recent research seems to be supporting his claim. Dr. Mathias Rath is also a supporter of vitamin C and he believes that is vital for cardiovascular health.

Another reason you may want to add Radishes to your diet is that they are high in potassium. Potassium has been know to assist the body in lowering blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels. Perhaps radishes should be one of those healthy foods that you should add to your shopping list.

Urinary Tract Infections

Radishes act as a diuretic. This can take pressure off the cardiovascular system and can help lower blood pressure as well. Since radishes increase urination they help clean out the kidneys. Keeping the kidneys clean will help in lowering the risk of infections.

Another health benefit of radishes is they are known to be good for both the liver and the gallbladder. Scientist have discovered that radishes contain a compound that helps detox harmful substances from the liver. The liver is the “EPA” of the body. It protects us from all type of harmful toxins we inhale and ingest.  With all the chemicals that we are subjected to today, anything that benefits the liver is something you want to include in your diet.  So make sure you add radishes to your list.

If you are looking for a healthy supplement that can support your cardiovascular health then you may want to take a look at Cardio Cocktail here  at http://mycardiograde.com

Arginine and Oral Health

Now we have another important reason to take your Cardio Cocktail. Researchers have found that the amino acid Arginine helps break down dental plaque. Dr. Alexander Richards of the University Of Michigan found that arginine stops the formation of dental plaque.

It is biofilms that form on teeth that is thought to cause dental cavities, gingivitis and periodontal disease. Researchers concluded that it was Arginine that was able to stop the formation and disintegrate biofilm.

Presently chemicals like chlorhexidine are used to fight dental plaque and kill bacteria. Many are concerned about the benefits of using unnatural chemicals for health benefits. Certainly Arginine would be a more healthy alternative. This seems to show another link between our oral health and the health of our heart, as well.  I think I’ll have a shot of Cardio Cocktail!

Health News – Amino acid found in some foods could improve oral health

Dr Nick Jakubovics, lecturer in the School of Dental Sciences at Newcastle University, found that in the laboratory L-arginine – present in red meat, poultry, fish, and dairy products, and already being used in dental products for tooth sensitivity – stopped the formation of dental plaque.
