53% of Organic Search Clicks Go to First Link [Study]

53% of Organic Search Clicks Go to First Link [Study] | Search Engine Optimization (SEO) - Beginners | Scoop.it

Check out this new data concerning the click threw rate of organic & paid search results, based on compete.com new research.

Here are the highlights -

** When it comes to clicks on those organic listings, 53 percent go to the top result.

** Second place sees 15 percent of the action, the third 9 percent, the fourth 6 percent, dwindling all the way down to 4 percent to round out the top 5.

** 24 percent of ads on a SERP are at the top and account for 85 percent of the clicks.

** 15 percent of ads appear at the bottom of the page, which gets just 2 percent of clicks.

** At the bottom of the page, rank doesn’t seem to matter. The first and second position ads account for 1 percent each of all paid search clicks.

Although these numbers might change a bit comparing one research to another, all the research show that being in the top 3 results for organic / paid results are a MUST in you want to drive traffic to your site.

Why Local Searches are so vital to your business success?

Why Local Searches are so vital to your business success? | Search Engine Optimization (SEO) - Beginners | Scoop.it

Most local searchers are looking for quick referential info – an address or a phone number to contact, especially on mobile devices. Searchers are increasingly looking for more descriptive content, in particular for higher-priced purchases or business categories.

Businesses of all sizes need to be more aware of how their local listings look online and across mobile search sites. The growth of mobile-local search is driving more category-based searches. In fact, more local business searches are conducted without a specific business in mind showing that more research is being done online early in the search process.

With increased smartphone adoption and prevalence of mobile-local apps, consumers are getting more comfortable with local search and finding ways to expand their use of it.
