How Do I Successfully Run SEO Tests On My Website?

How Do I Successfully Run SEO Tests On My Website? | Search Engine Optimization | Scoop.it

Rand Fishkin is going to talk about running some SEO tests.

So it is the case that many of us in the SEO world, and in the web marketing world overall, love to run tests on our websites. Of course, there's great software, like Unbounce or Optimizely, if you want to run conversion-style tests, tests that kind of determine whether users perform better through conversion Funnel X or Funnel Y, or if Title X or Title Y convinces more people to buy.

But SEO tests are particularly insidiously challenging because there are so many components and variables that can go into a test.

Social Signals and it's impact for SEO and Search engine rankings in 2014

Social Signals and it's impact for SEO and Search engine rankings in 2014 | Search Engine Optimization | Scoop.it
Social Signals are one of the main element of SEO these days. This infographic will show you why is it important.

Via Josepf J Haslam
Robbie Richards's insight:

Great post that touches on a very controversial topic in modern #SEO. Although the jury is still out (in my opinion) about the direct impact of social signals on rankings, I do believe they have a strong indirect impact. More social signals = more eyes on your content = more link building potential = more inbound traffic. I also like how Google Plus Search Your World has integrated circles into the search algorithm. If someone has you in one of their circles, you will show up higher in their search results when they search for a topic related to your business (super simple explanation). Now tweets are being indexed, Bing indexes facebook posts, and Twitter profile aggregators also provide followed links when placed correctly in your bio and web link section of your profile. I could go on and on ;) Great post!

Great article. With 97% of the US population having a cell phone within arms length 24 hrs a day, and over 50% of search with local intent taking place on mobile device, the convergence of search, mobile & now social is undeniable. As the post indicates, if you're not in the top 5 positions in Google you (pretty much) don't exist. Great read!
