Teaching is a complex practice, thus learning to teach teachers presents challenges. The complex interplay of social and emotional aspects of teaching is rarely considered in public reports and debates on teacher education. Discussions of teacher quality and evaluation "tend to be reductive" and teacher ed tends to be "rigid" and "one-dimensional."  Mike rose addresses the reduction of teacher ed to and education broadly as "knowledge delivery" or as a "technical craft."
