25-point Website Usability Checklist

25-point Website Usability Checklist | SCI-NET | Scoop.it
Use this simple, 25-point checklist to assess critical website usability issues. Includes free download (1-page PDF).

The list is split into 4 roughly equal sections, (I) Accessibility, (II) Identity, (III) Navigation, and (IV) Content. I'll describe and rationalize all of the sections and line items below, but you can also download the checklist as a simple, 1-page PDF. I try to keep it simple with 3 basic ratings: (1) Green Check = Good/Pass, (2) Red Check = Needs work, but no disaster, (3) Red X = Bad/Fail. Not all points are necessarily applicable to all sites.

Great short list. One to use that is very useful and best known is the Nielsen's heuristics list. Of course, we're talking about the generic aspects. Heuristics can be specialized as well depending on the type of software application and its function. :)

If You Think iOS 7 Feels Slow Here’s How to Speed It Up - OSXDaily | SCI-NET | Scoop.it

"Most users are satisfied with iOS 7 performance, but some iPhone and iPad owners have discovered the major update has impacted the speed of their devices. If you feel like iOS 7 has made your hardware slower than it was before the update, there are some changes you can make that will likely speed things up a bit. These tricks will make the biggest difference on older device hardware running iOS 7, so if your device feels a bit sluggish after updating take a moment to make a few settings adjustments.
