the photography business and the american dream | Laurence Kim Photographer

the photography business and the american dream | Laurence Kim Photographer | Sarah Moorman blog | Scoop.it

The American Dream is defined by a simple concept; this being the idea to become successful, have a lot of money, and live a luxurious life. Everyone seems to want this and its something drilled into our heads since the beginnig of our school lives, but sometimes how to get there is tiring and the jobs dont make us happy. There are people in jobs where they are miserable hoping to get this money and then once they get it, i believe they are still unhappy because they had to sacrifice so much in their personal lives, they dont know how to have another one again. i dont think this is the way to go, i know i would want to be happy throught my life and have a job that entitles this. That is why i wish to have a job as a photogrpaher despite what some people may say. an american dream is just what it says, a dream made by an american to pursue what makes them happy, but people have made it so they have a sense of a dream like everyone else. i believe to reach a full and happy american dream you have to be happy in your life and strive to make this dream come true. For me it isnt about highest social stauts or the amout of money i could possibly get by working in low paying jobs to get somewhere in 20 years. My american dream consists of my passion, and i know i will be happy being a photographer for the rest of my life.

Banning books has been going on for years but it only based on opinions. Opinions are welcomed by society but It has almost come too far. I know of most of the books that have been banned and have read some of them and i have gained a lot of knowledge from them. I believe the same could be said if other people my age were allowed to read the books these people ban. Another thing that annoys me about this form commitee is the fact that they probably read the books when they were the ages of the kids. The whole issue of banning books has gone out of hand and the things they try to sensure out are little nit picky things.
