Rottweilers
The Rottweiler has an unknown origin and probably descended from the Italian Mastiff. During the middle ages, the Rottweiler was used as a sheepdog. This breed was almost extinct in the 19th century, but survived and came roaring back in the 20th century. The Rottweiler is nowadays used for various functions such as tracking, herding, guard dog, police dog and dog alert.

Temperament

Temperament | Rottweilers | Scoop.it
Daiane Alexandre's insight:

The Rottweiler can be a fun and loving dog, but he is very powerful and can be serious at times. A proper obedience training and socialization as a puppy are sorely needed (for all races, not just Rottweilers). This breed can be very territorial and protective of his family and home. Rottweilers can be very intimidating and still carry the reputation of being brave, but they are great for families and can also be very docile.

The temperament of a Rottweiler can vary. Some may be very attached and docile (silly, even!), While others may be more irritated. It is important that this breed is socialized as a puppy, so do not be surprised when animals or people and adults to be a race very strong and powerful, can cause problems. Rottweilers are great with children if raised in an environment with children from an early age, but must be supervised when they are very young children, because they are very strong and large. The Rottweiler does well with other dogs, but may show signs of aggression if they have not been accustomed to the presence of other dogs as a puppy. Ie: when pup, your Rottweiler needs to be presented to all stimuli, such as children, other animals, other dogs, people of different ethnicities etc.. It is also a very protective breed both to his family and to his country.

Care

Daiane Alexandre's insight:

The Rottweiler has a short and the bright, easy to maintain. Brush regularly to remove excess of the dead is enough to keep it beautiful. Bathing too often will remove the natural oils from your skin, causing serious skin problems. Do not bathe too often in your dog. Cleaning the bathroom is used in many Rottweilers not to remove the natural oils from your skin.

Intelligence and training

Intelligence and training | Rottweilers | Scoop.it
Daiane Alexandre's insight:

Rottweilers love to learn and will be fine if given the chance. Obedience training is essential, since this breed can become very destructive if not stimulated. It takes a strong person, strong and dominant when training this powerful dog. The Rottweiler is very intelligent and does very well in different sports, but can also be stubborn. Occupy 9th place ranking in canine intelligence.
