Role Models, if we had more of these Health and Safety controls would be a lot easier !

Parents, while driving your children- have you ever sent a text while driving? have you had a few drinks before driving your children home from a dinner date? have you ever cracked open a can of alcohol while driving? have you ever bent down to find something on the floor while driving? have you yelled abuse at another driver while driving with your children in the car? have you been eating with food in one hand a drink in the other and steering at the same time? have you driven faster than the speed limit? have you driven when you are extremely tired? have you driven for more than 2 hours without a break? have you answered yes to any of these questions? what sort of a role model do you think you are?????

I am terrified that my young boys will one day have a license to drive on our roads, I have a few years to go before then and I hope that we can have one major program that pulls the best information from all of the other programs out there helping to educate teenagers. I think once a program is established then it should be rolled out to Australia and no teenager can get their L plates or P plates until they have completed the program.

In my opinion getting a licence is way too easy, a theory test and driving time in normal conditions is all that is required to get out there on the road where drivers pass cars at speeds of over 100km's p/h and the only thing between them is the white lines ! I believe a full program should be available, driving skills, safety, and real visits to hospitals, cemeteries, and rehabilitations centres to experience what can really happen when road accidents occur, what do you think?

This is so easy to do..... but I don't tend to do it.... why is that?
Lynne Thompson's comment, March 10, 2014 8:35 PM
Ok ! I have now thought about this and discovered the reason I do not do this, I am always thinking of where I am going and what I have to do when I get there, " I wish that lady in front of me would hurry up because I might miss my appointment" do any of us think about the dangers when we get into our vehicles?

Teenagers don't think about dying when they get into their cars. Information from Road Safety Partnership gives these teenagers a glimpse of what can happen and does happen on our roads, and with proof and real life stories they can really begin to change the way they view road safety.
