This children’s horror comic book is about five different horror tales that use all different types of archetypes. They use supernatural beings to attack and influence the humans both for good and bad. There are supernatural beings that also punish people for their individual behavior. They do this by torturing them and killing them.

Jada, Judy's insight:

This image is a screenshot from the famous, well-known movie Insidious, directed by James Wan. A devil-like figure (supernatural) appears behind Patrick Wilson's character (Josh Lambert), which is what is haunting the house that he and his wife and children live in. The creature yearns to destroy the family, as their son Dalton has fallen into a coma mysteriously soon after they move in. The creature wants to keep the boy in his possession in another dimension, intervening with the family and their happiness.

In the movie Star Wars George Lucas uses many archetypes. In particular he uses supernatural intervention to demonstrate how the force helps the Jedi, Luke, defeat Darth Vader. When Luke is flying through the channel in the death star Obi Wan's ghost leads Luke to blow up the space station. This is supernatural intervention because a supernatural being helped the protagonist beat the antagonist Darth Vader. This allows the good to keep fighting the dark side in the future.

"Poltergeist" by Douglas Kellner

Jada, Judy's insight:

This literary criticism on Poltergeist discusses the supernatural intervention of the otherworldly spirits, innocent and evil, who haunt the land that a family's (Steve and Diane Freeling) house is built upon. This is because an old graveyard site that was once existent was completely and utterly demolished, building new houses on top to draw in more population within the small town and more money. The bad spirits take away the family's youngest daughter, bringing her into another supernatural dimension. The family eventually overcomes this spirit by the help of a spiritual medium (Tangina), who draws it away from the daughter (Carol Anne).
