I am a huge fan of Woouf! « The Cool Collections | Design & Cool | Scoop.it
The Cool Collections's insight:

discovered Woouf! at Colette, the Parisian sanctuary for cool people and fashionistas and one of the most remarkable concept stores of the world. I remember I instantly loved the objects of this young and multidisciplinary brand setup in Barcelona in 2008 that designs exclusive and avant-garde products that combine creativity, functionality and quality. Woouf! aims to surprise and provoke a reaction with its range of products; these are targeted at kids as well as adults that desires to have contemporary and original decorations and furniture. I simply adore the new collection that the Brand has recently presented at www.thenandnowshop.com!

Explore the world of design with Dezeen Book of Interviews « The Cool Collections | Design & Cool | Scoop.it
The Cool Collections's insight:

Following the success of its Book of Ideas, Dezeen has put together its second foray into the book market, Dezeen Book of Interviews. With more than 1.7 million unique visitors a month, Dezeen represents the most important online resource for the design community. Since the launch of the site in 2006, the team behind the website – headed by founder Marcus Fairs – has interviewed the most important and influential designers in the UK and around the world. The interviews have appeared on the website in a variety of different formats (video, text or podcast) but have now been re-edited, with additional content not previously published online.

This book includes only a fraction of the interviews conducted by Dezeen over the last eight years but it reads like a who’s who from architecture, fashion, product design, graphic design, furniture and technology. Leaders in their disciplines are included in the book, such as Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby, Wim Crouwel, Tom Dixon, James Dyson, Konstantin Grcic, Rem Koolhaas, Richard Rogers and Paul Smith. Although Dezeen is an up-to-the-minute news website dedicated to bringing the latest in design and architecture to its readers, the book focuses instead on the inspiring stories of the finest creative minds from around the world.

The Cool Collections's insight:

Her collections of precious belts with interchangeable buckles of exotic animals (panthers, snakes or cocodriles) are becoming increasingly popular in the United States, with a big base of fans in Miami. I am talking about Marcela Arango, a designer who is triumphing with this beautiful collections of belts realized in cocrodile and with buckles in bronze bathed in silver and gold. A must have for any elegant and chic fashionista!

Les Près d´Eugénie: the secret reign of the 3 star Michelin French chef Michel Guérard

The Cool Collections's curator insight, August 27, 2014 4:40 AM

I discovered Les Prés d´Eugénie thanks to my dear friend Alberto. I have never been there but I have already fallen under the spell of this marvellous place. My long chats with Alberto discovered me a world made of beauty and harmony, a pleasure for all senses: for the sight (because of the delicate and cozy decoration, marvellous gardens and beautiful buildings); for the smell (thanks to the scent of flowers, the fragrance of the herbs cultivated there and used for the spa treatments and the meals); for the touch (that you can feel in the bed linen and the smoothness of towels); for the hearing (because of the classical music and the relaxing sound of the water of the spa) and for the taste (thanks to the great cuisine of the chef Michel Guérard, a regular in Michelin guide) .

The workshops about bees of Apivita, a wonderful present and a marvellous experience! « The Cool Collections

The workshops about bees of Apivita, a wonderful present and a marvellous experience! « The Cool Collections | Design & Cool | Scoop.it
The Cool Collections's insight:

Many scientific studies have proved that the products produced by bees have a wide range of properties for well-being. Among these properties there are some rejuvenating and body care ones, which is one of the basis of the excellence of the eco cosmetics products of Apivita.

As a fan of the brand, I follow closely all the news and today I am happy to talk you about the series of workshops about bees Apivita is preparing in some of their boutiques. I have received my personal invitation from the flagship store located in Conde de Xiquena, in Madrid, the place where I first proved  and where I fell in love with Apivita products. The workshop takes place on May 18th, it is free and open for everyone, you just have to book at info@sportmindclub.com or call to 917 525 531. I would like to invite you to join me there, I am sure that you will live a marvellous experience. Thank you Apivita for this wonderful present.

About Apivita

Thirty two years of a marvellous story that takes place in Greece, the story of Apivita, an eco cosmetics brand that has developed over 5,000 formulas based on natural raw materials. A brand with a legion of devoted admirers which  ingredients have a natural content ranging between 80% – 100%, mainly sourced from the 5,500 herbs available in the Greek nature, combined with pure bee products and organic essential oils. All of them consist of environmental friendly ingredients and are free of commonly used synthetic ingredients, a fact that minimizes side effects. The selection of extracts is based on clinical studies, improving the effectiveness for the skin and the body. Their formulas include bee products of high biological value and proven effectiveness such as propolis, nature’s miracle antiseptic. Clic here to read the full article I wrote some time ago about Apivita.

The luxe lingerie label Raine and Bea, a favourite of burlesque lovers and vintage vixens « The Cool Collections

The luxe lingerie label Raine and Bea, a favourite of burlesque lovers and vintage vixens « The Cool Collections | Design & Cool | Scoop.it
The Cool Collections's insight:

The luxe lingerie brand Raine & Bea combines military shades with pouting pin-ups in its new collection “Officer’s Mess”. Fast becoming a favourite of burlesque lovers and vintage vixens, Raine & Bea this new collection is composed by stunning pieces in silk, satin and net. Named “Officer’s Mess,” it’s a naughty-but-nice take on military shades, in homage to the centenary of WWI and the pin-up girls beloved by WWII soldiers.

Stand-out pieces include cross-body bras, high-waisted mesh waspies and half-cup lace slips. Raine & Bea’s signature looks (wide cross-over straps, top stitch detailing and ostrich feathers) remain, while the Officer’s Mess collection also features satin bras and bralettes, knickers, thongs, suspender belts, girdles, half-cup slips, corsets and a stunning ostrich feather micro-mini skirt with braces.

The Cool Collections's curator insight, August 27, 2014 4:41 AM

Ben Sherman celebrates his 50th anniversary with the Duke Street Foundry collection, a selection of pieces all made in England using the brand’s classic  silhouettes. As part of this collection, Ben Sherman has recently presented the new Liberty Print line. This injection collection updates three core styles from within Duke Street Foundry, all inspired and fabricated from a traditional Liberty Paisley print fabric.

The first style, a polo shirt,is now available in rust,a colour used to compliment and reflect the shades from within the paisley print that tapes and trims the inside seams. A British Beige Harrington jacket is introduced, here again it has been lifted and punctuated with colour by the use of the paisley print as a lining. Finally Ben Sherman’s original shirt shape from the 1960’s - the classic 3 finger collar Oxford shirt, has been constructed solely using the paisley Liberty fabric.
