How to Start A New Business in Less Than 50 Hours

How to Start A New Business in Less Than 50 Hours | Right Tasks | Scoop.it
Just about every weekend someplace on the planet a peculiar series of meetups is happening called Startup Weekend. The idea is to bring together a group of people, many of whom have never set eyes on each other before, to form new ventures, many of which are tech-related. So far the model seems to be working: each weekend on average has produced two or three companies. According to the master website, more than 5,000 startups have been created since the process began, and some 2,000 just in the last year alone. We last wrote about the process last April and here is more information about the process and the role that the Kauffman Foundation has played.

Guide to Bootstrapping a Start up | Rory Ford

Guide to Bootstrapping a Start up | Rory Ford | Right Tasks | Scoop.it
I’ve been working with start ups, both my own and others for almost 12 years. My preference is towards lower risk start up models such Eric Ries’s Lean Start up approach. This is my short summary of how to bootstrap a start up. Although, these days I prefer online consumer facing start ups, these principals can still apply to B2B and offline start ups.

Strategy

Its just a concept. Don’t get too attached. Be prepared to throwaway all your initial ideas and start again or abandon everything together and start afresh.

Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Have other sources of income but focus around related areas to your startup

If you get traction, be prepared to drop everything else.
