Lindex store by Dalziel and Pow, Uddevalla – Sweden | Retail Design Review | Scoop.it
Lindex is a Swedish fashion chain with over 400 stores in fourteen countries. It is known for its fast fashion offer, for both women and children, and its strong heritage as a lingerie brand. We were appointed in 2010 to help the brand reaffirm its position and enable it to grow more confidently across existing and emerging markets. We focused on the company’s business concept of ‘inspiring affordable fashion’, and used this as our foundation for defining the brand and for designing a new store environment and communications.

One of the latest additions to the city’s exclusive boutiques would be aïsso & co, a new style hub in the St. Honoré area. Founders, Enda and Riadh Ghoul chose a retail space over two floors to allow modification due to its adventurous concept. Housed within are timeless and vintage ready-to-wear pieces for men and women, from the likes of Hermès and Yves Saint Laurent to Comme des Garcons. In addition, this boutique also carries a wide variety of footwear, accessories and art objects.

Koko Black chocolatier by Mim Design, Melbourne

Koko Black chocolatier by Mim Design, Melbourne | Retail Design Review | Scoop.it
The first Koko Black salon opened at Melbourne’s historic Royal Arcade in December 2003. Shane Hills, Koko Blacks founder, had a vision to create a world-class chocolate experience and this vision has been well and truly realized with seven exquisite stores and plans for further expansion. The cafe is referred to in the Koko Black vernacular as a ‘salon’ and the stylish European decor and air of delicious decadence makes this an entirely appropriate term.

Decoding design : why the future of retail takes so long to arrive

Decoding design : why the future of retail takes so long to arrive | Retail Design Review | Scoop.it
The towering evergreen has arrived at Rockefeller Center, soon to be turned into that venue’s massive annual Christmas tree, a beacon for holiday shoppers in New York. Department stores from tony Bergdorf Goodman to mainstream Macy’s have unveiled festive window decorations. And throngs of eager consumers are beginning to crowd the sidewalks of midtown Manhattan, their arms filled with bags of gifts to rival Santa’s. It’s a scene that’s about to be replicated at malls, plazas, and town centers around the nation–and which will soon escalate into the chaotic rush and crush of annual holiday retail mania.

Zut Alors! McDonald's Unveils High-Design Concept Store In France

Zut Alors! McDonald's Unveils High-Design Concept Store In France | Retail Design Review | Scoop.it

In the battle between José Bové, the French antiglobalism activist, and his bête noire, McDonald’s, there’s no question that the fast-food giant emerged victorious. Today, France has effectively declared its love for Le Big Mac, becoming the No. 2 McDonald’s consumer in the world. To be fair, McDo--as the French call it--has changed things up to woo discerning customers: It sources most of its ingredients from French farmers and recently introduced 130 McCafés featuring espresso and pastries (we’re talking macaroons here, not deep-fried apple pies). And now, it’s even classing up its interiors, with the help of Paris-based designer Patrick Norguet.

TIPS Fashion Store by ///byn, Shanghai | Retail Design Review | Scoop.it
TIPS Fashion Store is located on the ground floor of an old French Mansion in The heart of the former French Concession of Shanghai. The preexistence of the historic residential environment drove the design. The house is protected as well as all the existing details inside. The Store is located in the former dining and living room of the house, which kept the original woodworks, moldings, tire places, wood beamsc. Our design had to be a contemporary contrast within that classical ambience, respecting the existing but drastically changing the appearance of the site.
