Opinion: Sectarianism and the Irrational New Discourse: Why Arabs Must Worry ...
Lina Kreidie's insight:

well said. it is the continuous identity challenge people of the called Middle East live with. They either have to draw lines between each other as Persian, Arab or Turkish;  or with their own national identity, or religious identity, and even more particularistic their sectarian identity.. but the most intriguing aspect is that if they belong or cater to the globall western identity then they are on the right path and are categorized s moderate, and if not Hell brakes as they become the rogue, fundamentalist diabolical enemy!

Lina Kreidie's insight:

If the Quranic verse

"O Mankind, We created you from a single pair of a male and a female and made

you into nations and tribes, so that you may know one another. Verily the most

honored of you in the sight of God is he who is the most righteous of you" (Quran 49:13). was meant to create peace between peoples, humans of all religions have worked at even dividing their own nation.. so let's hope for peace under the umbrella of religion.

Middle East Prospects Forum's curator insight, June 7, 2013 10:46 AM

"Turkey’s successes have deep roots in governmental capacity and its people’s skills, reflecting decades of investment and centuries of history dating back to Ottoman times. Other countries cannot simply copy these achievements; but they can still learn the main lesson that is too often forgotten in a world of “stimulus,” bubbles, and short-term thinking. Long-term growth stems from prudent monetary and fiscal policies, the political will to regulate banks, and a combination of bold public and private investments in infrastructure, skills, and cutting-edge technologies."

Lina Kreidie's insight:

If Scandinavians decide that US policies are a violation of human rights, Can Liberals or Right Wing authoritarian Norwegians intervene in American politics? Obvioulsy this is not even contemplated!!

The issue is not who intervenes or not, the issue is there should be NO intervention in others' internal affairs.
