9 Credibility-Killing Meeting Behaviors

9 Credibility-Killing Meeting Behaviors | Relationship Capital Analytics | Scoop.it

Your ability to influence others is directly dependent upon how credible you seem. If meeting attendees don't perceive you as intelligent, competent and trustworthy, they'll want to do business with somebody else.

With that in mind, here are nine common meeting-room behaviors to avoid.

I have used Quia to create games to help my students learn the elements and principles of design and other art facts with my high school art classes. The games provided a safe place for them to test themselves on what they have learned. They excitedly shared their scores with their peers and took part in friendly competition. I was delighted that my entire class worked until they got 100%! Needless to say by the time they took their final exam, they were READY!

5 Powerful Steps to Improve Employee Engagement

5 Powerful Steps to Improve Employee Engagement | Relationship Capital Analytics | Scoop.it

The current business environment, and the world in general, is moving faster than it ever has before. Organizations across the globe are faced with more change than most can handle – in order to compete and dominate their segment they are required to grow faster often giving them less time to focus on managing all of their financial goals. They are forced to grow quickly with fewer resource - to do more with less. Managers have to learn to excel in managing themselves, their teams and meeting organizational goals simultaneously.

It is a common understanding of a vast majority of leaders that the employees are a company’s most important asset. But in reality, that is only true when the majority of the workforce is fully engaged in their work. If not, they are either adding minimal value or actively working against the organization.

There are three types of employees in any organization:

Social Media Marketing for B2B: The 5 Things To Do Immediately - G2M Solutions

Social Media Marketing for B2B: The 5 Things To Do Immediately - G2M Solutions | Relationship Capital Analytics | Scoop.it

Digest...

Here are the five immediate actions business owners should take to ensure social media success:

1. Keep an eye on the numbers

Social media marketing is no longer something you do to get ahead, it’s more like the tactic you have to use if you don’t want to be left behind. Therefore, simply posting updates to your various social networks without measuring the results they bring is a huge mistake.

2. Visual content is the way forward

We’ve all read that statistic where posts with images get several more clicks than posts without images. In this day and age where everyone is time-poor, people just can’t afford to spend time on long pieces of written content. As long as they can convey your points clearly, use more images, slides, infographics and videos to engage your audience better.

3. Optimise everything!

You may think social media posts aren’t the type of posts that need to be optimised as they’re different from website content, blogs and articles. But this is not the case. Google indexes social media updates and this means that social media posts, when searched for, can show up on Google’s search results (some are dependent on whether you are logged in to the specific network).

4. Automation saves time

Do you spend time every day thinking about the posts you need to publish on your social networks? This is a huge waste of time, and comes with a risk of inconsistency, as some days you may forget to post your update. So, stop wasting your precious time and invest in a good social management tool with automation.

5. Hashtag that post

Some people stay away from hashtagging while marketers flock to it. Hashtagging your posts essentially groups them into a category and helps you to be found whenever someone clicks on that hashtag. It is quick, simple and effective.

Creating a Social Organisation built on traditional business models will be a gigantic task, requiring huge investments both in time and capital. Probably very few organisations can afford this in a fast paced and ever changing environment. True Social Leaders have to re-think their business model from the ground up, forming a new socially agile and adept organisation.

There can be no rules to enable this type of organisation, only guidelines, much like Community guidelines supporting the common good.

Einhorn Family Charitable Trust: Our vision is to inspire a movement of empathetic citizens

The Einhorn Family Charitable Trust's mission is to help people get along better. Our vision is to inspire a movement of empathetic citizens who have the skills and orientation to work together to solve our most difficult social problems.

To do this, we partner with and invest in research-backed nonprofits in the United States that nurture and unleash the positive side of human nature. Research demonstrates that empathy and compassion are fundamental human traits, with deep evolutionary roots, ready to be cultivated and activated for the greater good.

The environments, relationships, and experiences we encounter throughout life shape who we are and how we engage with others in the world around us.

When our environments and relationships are supportive and nurturing, and we have regular opportunities to engage in acts of kindness, inclusivity, teamwork and service – “flexing” our empathy muscle and making it stronger – we further develop a positive orientation toward others and the necessary skills to engage productively, respectfully, and creatively across different viewpoints, beliefs, and backgrounds.

Does this sound familiar: you exhibit at a trade show and collect a bunch of business cards or contact information from potential customers. You’re frustrated but it’s time for the next show and you do it all over again! In this article, I’m going to discuss some do’s and don’ts for overcoming this by starting conversations at your booth, focusing on building long-term relationships, and continuing the conversation after the trade show has ended using trust-based selling techniques

The Pursuit of Happiness in the Workplace

The Pursuit of Happiness in the Workplace | Relationship Capital Analytics | Scoop.it

Forget spreadsheets, swot analysis and risk management, the latest topic on the business school agenda is happiness.

Those academics who research the topic prefer to classify it a bit differently, however. “Meaning” is the term used by Lee Newman, dean of innovation and behaviour at IE Business School in Spain. At Michigan Ross in the US, Jane Dutton, university professor of business administration and psychology, says it is about “human flourishing”. Christie Scollon at Singapore Management University describes it as “subjective wellbeing”.

But however they describe it, they all agree that happiness makes good business sense. Moreover, employers and policy makers need to consider the happiness factor if they are to promote strong economies and profitable companies.
