Introduction page

A constitutional amendment is a formal change to the text of the written constitution of a nation or state. I have chosen the first four amendments to relate to 2011. The first amendment Protects the freedom of religion, speech, and the press, as well as the right to assemble and petition the government. The second amendment Protects the right to bear arms. The third amendment Prohibits the forced quartering of soldiers out of war time. The fourth amendment Prohibits unreasonable searches and seizures and sets out requirements for search warrants based on probable cause. The Bill of Rights is the collective name for the first ten amendments to the United States Constitution. These limitations serve to protect the natural rights of liberty and property.

High Court OKs Routine Testing of Students for Drugs

I fully beleive in this article because i think people only have rights if you are over 18. I think this because kids are too young to have rights and let alone protest against things in school. The are lucky enough too get an education so they shouldnt get that mad if all they are checking is  how many kids do drugs or not.

A Vital Liberty | Relation's to the Amendments in 2011 | Scoop.it

I dont believe this is right and that it is a hugh problem because it goes against freedom of press, which is part of the first amendment. Even if the police dont like it, it is still a right of and for the people.

Engblom v. Carey

I agree with this article it is not right too commandeer a mans home without consent of the person. in this case i agree that it is against the 3rd amendment because the national guard commandeered a home without consent of the people.

Katz vs. United States

I fully believe in Charlie Katz because individuals' have the right to be "secure in their persons, houses, papers and effects." That is why it goes against the 4th amendment. The FBI is not aloud too bug a phone too listen to your conversations. Its against the 4th amendment by intruding on search and seizure of someones privacy.

Consumed - Starbucks and the Gun-Rights Debate | Relation's to the Amendments in 2011 | Scoop.it

This article is about starbucks choosing to allow guns in their store because of how many stick-ups the have had through the past. I think this should be allowed because you shouldn't be able too bring guns into stores it endangers the people in the store and it also scares them.

Bloomberg Is Sued Over City’s Handgun Permit Fee

Bloomberg Is Sued Over City’s Handgun Permit Fee | Relation's to the Amendments in 2011 | Scoop.it

I dont believe that new yorkers should be charged with a $340 fee charging for a home handgun permit. I think this because it goes against the 2nd amendment. by saying the right to bear arms. it is not illegal to bear arms and therefore you shouldnt have too pay a fee if you are armed with a weapon.

There was alot of commandeering of residences during the War of 1812 and the Civil War. Violations of the 3rd amendment were inflicted alot because of it. It even happand in both loyal and rebellious states during the Civil War.
