Here are some tips for regular --er verb conjugation; I hope you find it helpful!

The two steps for conjugating regular --er verbs

1.  Drop the --er from the infinitive.  This creates a verb stem which will serve as the base from which you build the verb forms.

 

2.  Add the appropriate endings:

-e          -ons

 

-es         -ez

 

-e          -ent

The subject pronouns

The French subject pronouns are:

 

Je (J' before a vowel)                       Nous

 

Tu                                                    Vous

 

Il / Elle / On                                      Ils / Elles

 

The English equivalents are (in the same order):

 

I                                                                We

 

You                                                          You

 

He /She / We (generic)                             They 

                                                                  (There are masculine and feminine forms in French)

 

In both cases, the left hand column are the singular forms while the right hand column is the plural forms.
